Dual Wield and Knives

Say I have a character with... EXP, AP, Dual Wield.... and a Knife
Can I mix and match, using the Knife for Shock? if so, is there a damage penalty? and does "Silent" carry over?

Second question- if I have a Dual Wielder with EXP and DA, is that 5 armor rolls, or 4?

I don't think you could. Dual Wield is generally limited to two CCWs (or, in case of ranged weapons, two ranged weapons of exactly the same type).
Should you have a Dual Wield model with two Knives, say, Viral Knife and EM Knife, we would be talking.

From the core rules:

This CC Special Skill allows the user to combine the effects of the Special Ammunitions of two different CC Weapons.


From what I am reading, you could use either the EXP and DA, EXP and Shock or DA and Shock for your attack. Basicaly, you just combine the effects of two of your CC weapons.

If you decided to use EXP and DA and hit with both then yes, your opponent would have to make 5 armor saves.

I could not find anything that changed this in the fact. You can check out the example on page 100 of the core rules

However, given that, I could combine pistols into CC as well. Like, a Breaker Pistol, and a Knife, for Dmg12 Breaker+Shock (not silent, I'd say)

Pistol or Knife can be used in Close Combat.

But CCW is an actual name for a weapon class/type, just like a Combirifle is. You can have Breaker CCW as well as Breaker Combi.

On model, a CCW is usually represented as a sword, sometimes an axe, rarely as an even more exotic fighting utensil. Yes sometimes even as a knife (I remeber an explaination in the 1ed rulebook that this mean the figure is such a master in using a knife that it counts as a full-sized CCW for them - but that was in the day when Knifes had no Shock & Silent qualities yet!).

In short, Knife=/=CCW.

I guess the translation from original Spanish is to blame here...
