Warsenal Terrain

by Warsenal » February 26th, 2013, 4:43 pm

We're happy to announce that our first pieces of MDF terrain are now available. Below are some photos with links to even more photos on our site. We plan to have a steady stream of new releases over the coming weeks. Many of our pieces were designed with the campaign in mind. We hope you enjoy them and we welcome any and all comments and criticisms.

Command Bunker

This building was designed with the campaign in mind and works perfectly with the Communications Array and Tech Consoles.

Communications Array

Designed as an objective or just a beautiful piece of scatter terrain. Fits perfectly in the Command Bunker.

Tech Console
Image

Designed as an objective or just a beautiful piece of scatter terrain. Fits perfectly in the Command Bunker. Also available as a 4 pack.

Dumpster

Great piece of scatter that can hold a mini for your tricky hidden deployment needs. Opening the lid is a short skill though :)

Torii Arch

A teaser for our upcoming line of Japanese inspired terrain for all the YJ fans.

We will keep this thread updated as we release new pieces of terrain. Thanks for looking!

Very cool, I've just added your store to my favourites. Love the command bunker, now that's how the objective room should have been made (a functional piece of terrian that can be used when the objective room isn't needed for a scenario, not a shoe box without a lid!).

This is why I love this independent forum, there are so many cool terrain manufactures that aren't "Official".

Lovely stuff, but the prices makes MAS look cheap. :(

Anyway, if you want any of it reviewed on http://wargamingtrader.com/reviews let me know.

I'm assuming you're talking about the building primarily but yes we're definitely not going to be in the same price range as MAS for this particular piece. The building is a lot of pieces and has details like acrylic hinges and windows that do drive the cost up a bit. It's intended to be a centerpiece though so you'd likely only be buying one per table.

We definitely have some lower cost buildings in the works but we decided to come out of the gate with this more complex building.

Feel free to review it on your site. I'd love to hear what you have to say!

I like your stuff! Ive been after a piece that would blend in well enough with my Sarissa Pods, but be fitting for the campaign. Im keen on the Command Bunker + Floor Insert + Comm Array + 4x Tech Consoles... and maybe a camo and optical camo marker pack... however $39.10 as the cheapest option for postage I simply dont think I can do...

I ordered a couple of kg of terrain from Sarissa Precision, and that postage was free from the UK to Australia...

Im torn as I really love your stuff!

Being a US company we will definitely be more expensive to ship for you. That's actually part of the reason we started Warsenal. There weren't a lot of choices for US MDF terrain companies. I've spent a ton personally on shipping MDF from the UK / Poland :). I sent you a PM that will hopefully help a bit.

I like the Tech Consoles and Dumpster! Excellent work. The communication array is neat, but personally I'd like to see the top less "busy" and then I could use it as a futuristic phone booth of sorts...

I was also just wondering what your tolerances are like between the pieces that slide/lock together?

I recently had to put together some MicroArts stuff, and it was a thouroughly terrible experience. There was no tolerance, and this resulted in a number of damaged pieces. The holo ads also ended up with a curved bottom, as the stresses of the tight fit were causing the wood to bend... None of the pieces were fully cut out either, which just made more unecessary work for me, and resulted in a lot of untidy ends. Needless to say i will never purchase a building for myself from MicroArts.

The Sarissa ones were all cut out perfectly, and just slipped easily together, with a small amount of PVA for holding in place. This is my preference

Curiousity. I haven't assembled the holoads, have you noticed the same issues with the district 5 buildings?

Related note, I'm also curious about the tolerances consider you seem to have many "movable" pieces.
Thanks!

Definitely not as tight as the MAS stuff. Technically you could put most of the stuff together without glue, though if you glue it drops won't mean lots of pieces to pick up.

All of our pieces are fully cut out. We definitely feel your pain with having to cut the pieces out. We ship similar to the way Sarissa ships their stuff.

Yes, we wanted to make a bold statement about the quality and look of our terrain right of the bat. The command bunker is a large and premium piece, it is a resource consuming item that has a lot of pieces of various materials. Many buildings we produce will be designed around a more affordable easily assembled concept and they are coming very soon.

Oreet wrote:I just looked at the site, and your camo and optical camo makers are fantastic. I'll probably order a pack or two of each.

Thanks we are especially proud of the optical camo markers, I really like the advantage of not having to switch out for a model to check height and the pics don't do 100% justice to how they look as the material changes color from viewing angel, perfect for TO! As a side note the Suppression fields are quite useful as well for the same reason ( as you can visually determine LOS by looking threw them!)

Cool, look forward to seeing them! I really like your products, specially being in the US where it's easy to get burnt by high shipping costs.

MAS District 5 apartments are around 40 bucks from Warstore (inc shipping), will you be looking to come under that, for buildings not as grand as the bunker?

Do you see future deals for a whole tables worth of terrain?

The bunker is a cool center piece, but like many players i'm looking to cover a table without breaking the bank.

Thanks for answering my questions!

Yes we're looking to do a range of buildings of all types, and a whole table package is something we're working to achieve now. Once again thanks for the comments and support, It is a labor of love creating these things and to have one's art so complimented is inspiring.

Beautiful stuff. I have MAS and Sarissa. Those are shoe boxes in comparison to this Warsenal command bunker (shoe boxes that I really like).

Warsenal is in Orlando (where I live---and in the interest of full disclosure, I'm friends with the guys), so I had a chance to put hands on the piece when they brought it to a FLGS. It's the best piece of MDF terrain I've seen produced for Infinity.

The main doors are slid into slots from above (you have to take off the roof to pull them out). You can make garage-door noises when you pull them up, or do the more sci-fi "pshhhhhhh!"

The roof hatches flip up, and the skylight center is removable so you can put the roof over the com tower inserted into the floor below. In short---it's awesome.

I haven't had a chance to put one together. It looks like there are LOTS of parts and pieces, so I'm guessing it's more complex than the MAS and Sarissa pieces I've built.

They do stack about 10 high before the weight makes them fall over. Being magnets they stick together when they fall over though :)

I love the "radiant" TO camo/screen (I'd love them even more if they were Nanoscreen-sized;)) markers. Are they 2-piece, or solid with the base?
