Thank for the recommendation. I went to the LGS and looked at the book. I bought it. Saved a bit because it was on sale (slightly damaged). Started reading it yesterday. Enjoying it immensely!

This is going from my faulty memory so take it all with a big grain of salt but my recollection is that the only real support they're planning for 5e is third party work for hires on big adventure paths, just like the Tyranny of Dragons saga that they did for release. The default is Forgotten Realms but that's because Tyranny is set there. The next one that's being worked on is Elemental something or another, which has been speculated as a Temple of Elemental Evil tie-in, which is why Greyhawk is believed to be the next setting. Then they'll do a third adventure path which in turn will be set in a third world, and so on.
So they're not really coming out with new worlds as much as they're just coming out with big adventures set in established worlds.
