Battle Conditions Cards

by Lampyridae » March 2nd, 2014, 9:15 pm

Just something I've been thinking of, inspired by IJW's YAMS and the random event cards in Tomorrow's War. Stuff like Storm is fairly obvious, and is an elaboration of CB's own (mostly ignored) rules for storms. Others are... well. I've got a couple of other ideas such as "Memetic Hazard" but I've had trouble making the rules simple enough to put on a card.

Nice, though several wouldn't apply to me, as I hardly use REMs anyway.

In Raging Tempest, does Superior Infiltration remain the same?

I was considering for a storm scenario being Low VIS, but with a random roll for Lightning to give a turn of shooting/give normal visibility. See if people want to take the gamble of being out in the open and all that.

Thanks for the suggestions. Just been putting this together late at night so haven't thought them through properly. Yeah, the technological hazards would seem to impact REMs more. Perhaps some random mutagens to cause one or more units to hulk out with Metachemistry? Hmmm.

Lightning is a good idea, or it could just be that the storm abates randomly. I'm just trying to keep the card text short and simple. Perhaps Gusting Storm - 15 or less on a D20 is storm conditions, 16+ not?

Raging Tempest: Superior Infiltration I left in to keep things flavourful. Masterful ninjas would be in before the storm. :ninja: And Impersonators have been in the enemy army since last week. :v: I'm also considering making a penalty to LI movement because they get pelted with sand, hail, rocks etc. and can't shrug it off like MI and HI can with their extensive armour, respirators etc. THAT would be quite an upset, and also make Moblots not useless.
