Looking For: Correctly Scale Heads / Weapons

by Force de Frappe » September 28th, 2013, 3:32 pm

Hello! Figured that in the Other Forum this would be frowned upon.

I was saddened to read that weapon pack blisters by CB are only ever offered as prizes in a pricey tournament pack. This seems bonkers as even Games Workshop offer blister packs of metal/resin with popular weapons in for conversions.

The Intel Officer pack does have 1 headswap and 3 weapons - I could use him as a Chasseur. But I was wondering- who is your preferrred 3rd party supplier for weapons? I've had several sites suggested when I Google but some of them seem too large, designed for 40k scale models, or low detail.

I was especially hoping to convert a highlander grey. Got a spare one from the Ariadna starter box and wanted to give him a new head - and maybe a rifle - could use him as a Scots Guard.

Try Heresy Miniatures http://www.heresyminiatures.com/shop/ or Hasselfree Miniatures http://www.hfminis.co.uk/ for weapons and heads. They are the correct size.

Ooh, I didn't know about Heresy, those look perfect and very cheap. Nice that the sprue has left and right hands, as well.

I scrounge spare heads from the various Anima Tactics 'Agents'. They're really close to the same size as Infinity minis. Another option is the various Perry minis, or the Lord of the Rings line (sacrifice the plastics, NOT the metal or failcrap).

I sourced a few weapons (shotguns, sniper rifles, miniguns and Tesla guns) from Maxmini, and others (SCAR autoguns and sniper rifles) from Chapterhouse.

I've been debating getting some weapons (RPGs mostly) from The Assault Group. I've already bought a whole pile of backpacks from them, and I'm debating on loading down my Zanshi and Keisotsu.

Folks have already mentioned Hasslefree, and most of their weapons are a good size match. The CAD guns are too big for Infinity minis, unless you use the CAD M12 as a 20+mm sniper rifle. I really like Tomoko's gun (duh), and have used it on a couple minis. It's about the same size as the new YJ combirifles.
“I'm curious, son. When has 'This might be a trap' ever stopped you?”
“Stopped? Never. Slowed me down while I load the guns? Every time.”

They're exactly the same weapon sprues as in the Spec Ops blisters. Anyway, another vote for Heresy and Hasslefree, you might also want to look at Wyrd's modern weapons pack.

False, CB sells weapon packs, current nominal price is 11.25. And you get a free body. Totally FREE. :x Talk about upselling tactics... OK, I had a bad day today and in grumpy mood as result. While in the trend, CB also will sell civilians! You heard it first here! As bonus, you get 2 extra soldiers and a mission for FREE!!! Look for the DireFoes boxes.

Trying to be a bit more positive: for (female) heads and Ariadna-level weapons, check Statuesque.
If not worth saving, is it worth rewriting? What is more, was it worth writing?

Oh man those statuesque ones are amazing!

Those would do well as Kazak or Metro LI proxies to fill up a link team with basic rifles, rather than being forced to bring along LGL or what have you.
