GW will bring back Specialist Games gradually with beginning in the 3th Quarter 2014.
-First Game will be Epic in July or August 2014
-There will be no individual model Boxes or Blister, only Game Sets and possibly "Expansions"
-Sets remain permanent in assortment
-Epic Game Set might feature Space Marines vs. Orks, there will be Sets for Imperial Guard, Eldar and Chaos

I always heard good comments about the rule set. Never played.

That sounds nice, but I doubt that GW will bring back specialist games. I could see them putting out another Epic Armaggedon set and allowing Forge World to make resign kits again. They will not bring back the metal figures.

And they'll be a different scale, to prevent compatibility with old Epic minis.

Bigger = better = ask for more money = more angry parents = what could possibly go wrong?

Am I right?

All models are now made entirely of skulls. All terrain are giant skulls and waist high skulls.

Why so complicated? Skulls of angry fans are ground down to a fine powder and used as filler for finecast (what's why it's crap :v:).

But yeah, GW really wants to push the boundaries on that front. I remember doing a WTF on first seeing the battle board - cracked earth, and inside... skulls upon skulls, to the very end  also, the Skulldozer. With a skullgun that shoots skulls.

Might be nice, especially if they keep the Epic:Armageddon rules. I could almost be persuaded to acquire an entire Chapter, plus fleet, in Epic scale.

I always heard good comments about the rule set. Never played.

It's generally pretty good, alternating activation and there's a chance that your unit won't activate at all due to incoming fire. Getting the Tau to work took a lot of effort, since we were explicitly NOT allowed to make them Death Incarnate at firefight ranges (firefight is technically a CC phase). I've stopped contributing, but used to be really involved on the SG forums and then over at the Tactical Command forums as 'Lion in the Stars'.

If you've played Flames of War, Epic:A is kinda similar.
“I'm curious, son. When has 'This might be a trap' ever stopped you?”
“Stopped? Never. Slowed me down while I load the guns? Every time.”

Tx for the info.

I've decided to try out Drop Zone Commander to satisfy my 10mm urges. Having a sweet deal on a starter+rulebook helped (30$!).

I wish this were true! =-<

I've got Space Wolves and Eldar. I'm getting people to play Warmaster now - after that I want to get people playing Epic.

No matter how cool this sounds, GW isn't getting another double dollar from me. If I ever get into 10mm, I'll probably try Dropzone or Flames of War.

I've downloaded NetEpic the fan supported enhanced version of the old epic Spacemarine. http://www.netepic.org/netepic.html The glory days of epic are back! I'm using a number of 3rd party 6mm figures and warmaster demons in my chaos army.

Yeah there's some good proxies out there - and the founding races of Space marines Orks and Eldar are commonly on ebay if you can stand using the older models/plastics.
