Warzone (reboot) Mishima minis

Anyone here remember Warzone or Mutant Chronicles? OK, I thought it was a pretty horrible rip of GW back in the day, but check out the new minis for the reboot:

It wasn't a ripoff before. Now it's an Infinity ripoff :v:

Still, nice Keisotsu proxies (actually my first thought after seeing them).

It wasn't so much a ripoff - as probably inspired from some similar (not ALL the same) source material.

That said, I got burned by WZ twice before. Thrice shy, so they say. Nice or not, the damage has been done already and I have my SF replacement game already.

Welp, my trade fell through, so I might just nab these guys for Keisotsu; not a big fan of their sculpts, unlike the rest of the JSA, which I love.

You're the first perston I know who doesn't like the Keisotsu then; I consider them one of the best Infinity minis and one of the draws of JSA for me.

I decided to look at them again to see if I was crazy, and apparently I am; I must have just seen a really badly painted set or something. I'll still hesitate to buy them, as my Ghulams and Odalisques have taught me that I'm terrible at open faces.

Yeah, I'm terrible with faces, too. I should probably buy a set of those cheap Wargames Factory or Defiance minis. Maybe some Bolt Action. But whatever it is, something cheap with a lot of faces to paint!

I think the Keisotsu are nice.. love the style with their trousers, manages to look Japanese without going OTT (which I think is a fine balancing act).

Minis in the OP are very nice also, I wonder how they scale compared to Infinity stuff? I've found that's the biggest problem when using stuff alongside CB's minis.

Good point!

Perry Brothers minis are pretty good (I used some of the true-28mm Lord of the Rings models for spare hands and such when converting Infinity minis). Empress is pretty close to the same detail/build/proportions as well. Anima Tactics minis are tall, but not outside the range of human variation. I use AT minis for head swaps with Infinity minis and they're fine. I also use AT minis for civilians. The Soda Pop minis are at the edge of caricature for working with Infinity minis, but the unarmed ones make decent civvies.

Reaper is really variable, but the Sandra Garrity angels are about the right size to use for alternate heads. Feels kinda blasphemous to behead an angel, though!

I will either buy a set myself or see if someone on The Miniatures Page beat me to the comparison. Not like I really need another 5 Keisotsu, though the Capital "Mitch Hunter and Pride" set looks interesting for my Ariadna forces. Airdropping doggy!

I've got my Reaper Kickstarter minis for that! :P

Don't forget Hasslefree, they're pretty much perfect! I recently got in my Counts As Ariadna models, and they're great. Only complaint with their new modern military is the static posing, though I expect in the future for their to be more choices.

I liked them enough to consider them as Keisotsu bits/proxies, so I made a size comparison (Infinity 25mm bases vs WZR's 30mm):

Image

Move along people, there's nothing to see here. Totally different scale.

Would not count them out yet.

Did a quick google image search on "Warzone reboot mishima" and got this pic in the results:

I believe the zombie dude is of the new range? Looks pretty much the same scale as the older infinity stuff...

Yes, but I specifically scaled the Infinity minis to the Ronins, which seem to be noticeably larger than the zombies.

That seems to be a really big size difference... I'm assuming you scaled the Infinity bases at 5/6 the size of the Warzone?

Maybe he got mislead by the missing parts? And even so, I think the WZ ones are bigger.
If not worth saving, is it worth rewriting? What is more, was it worth writing?

@Section9: Yes, WZR bases are 30mm.

And the Ronin (which I wanted) seem to be noticeably bigger than the zombies (which I don't care for).
