The Haj: A Four Player Scenario for Infinity: The Game

by Crushar » August 11th, 2013, 4:55 pm

A buddy of mine thought this up and is looking for input as he doesn't post very often (or ever) on these forums.

He knows that he needs stats for the "vehicles" and "transports" but otherwise what do you all think?

----------
The Haj: A Four Player Scenario for Infinity: The Game

Baniya Island, Bourak

The night was cool. The leafy grounds of the Caliph of Medinat’s secret pleasure palace were shrouded in an early evening mist. The night promised to get cold, and the humble fishermen in the village at the foot of the palace were expecting a wet snow by midnight.
The Caliph’s harim had added a new houri, a truly exotic creature. Pale, with yellow blonde hair and icy blue eye, Oksana was a welcome change for the Caliph. Her physique was shapely, with generous hips and an ample bosom, and her haughty countenance promised quite a workout for the old man. The Caliph’s Vizier, Achmed Bey, was worried she might be a bit much for his master.
Especially since the true purpose of this visit to the secret palace was far removed from a tumble with an houri. The highly illegal, but highly profitable, meeting was to happen in two hours. When the operative of the rival faction arrived, he would exchange military technology for the latest biological weapons and their cures all made in the finest facilities in the Caliphate. If word of this ever got out, and reached the Hachib the Caliphate would soon be a smoking hole in the ground.
As he waited outside the luxurious bed-chamber of the Caliph, he could hear the throaty laugh of Oksana, and the shrill giggles of the Caliph. He sighed deeply, and wished again for his hookah. He glanced nervously at his watch. Time was running out.
Suddenly he heard an inhuman gasp, followed by a scream. He heard a body tumble, and rushed in to find Oksana on the bed, the naked Caliph crumpled on the floor next it.
Achmed bey knew time was short. The nearest hospital was in Bahal, hundreds of kilometers away. He began to bark orders….

The caliph was loaded into a medical stasis tube. He had to be moved through the ramshackle fishing village to the air-strip to be medevaced to Bahal. As he watched the palace doctor, a drunk and old friend of the caliph, and the engineer cluck over the pod, the Caliph’s Odalisques and other security forces formed up. The secret meeting was delayed. A sudden shriek brought everyone’s attention skyward. An assault lander was touching down. Time was of the essence…

SET UP:
This scenario is for up to 4 players, a Haq Islam force and up to 3 other factions. If one faction is Yu Jing, the Japanese Sectorial Army may not be one of the others. The other three forces may include appropriate link teams, up to 300 points. Forces must include a doctor, an engineer or hacker, and one other specialist troop.
The Haq Islam forces will include an infantry component, a ground vehicle, and a flying transport. The Caliph will be represented by a medical stasis pod, accompanied by a doctor, an engineer, a civilian representing Achmed Bey, his Vizier, and a 4 woman Odalisque security team. The player may choose how the Odalisques are equipped.

The table will be 6’ by 4’. The Caliph’s party will start at one short table edge, with the airfield and flying transport on he opposite edge. The caliph’s party will begin on the table edge, in one corner. The ground vehicle may be placed up to 12” away from the party. THEY MAY NOT BEGIN ALREADY ON THE TRUCK. The truck may be no closer than 6” to the party. Additional Haq Islam infantry may be place within 12” of the same edge, even with and among the Caliph’s party.

The other three forces will begin on one of the three remaining edges, chosen randomly by a WIP roll. Player who succeeds at the roll and has highest WIP chooses first, and so on. They may set up in a zone 12” away from Haq Islam deployment zone, up to 12” deep. The player on short edge may deploy in a 12” by 12” centered on the long axis of the table.

SECRET OBJECTIVES:
Each force will have one of three secret objectives:
1) Save the Caliph: this is the force coming to make the illegal trade. They want the Caliph to live, and will do anything to make that happen.
2) Stop the Caliph: this force is the bitter rival that stands to lose the most if the trade is completed. They want the Caliph dead or alive.
3) Kill ‘em all, let Allah sort ‘em out: just thought it would be fun to wreck this little seaside village, and will destroy anyone or anything not in the right livery.

HAQ ISLAM FORCE LEVELS:
Security forces: (may be equipped by player, up to 200 points) order pool includes all infantry and TAGS ; excluding the Caliph, plus one order for ground vehicle and aircraft.
Level 1: Muyib 4 trooper link team
Level 2: Kaplan 4 man team
Level 3: Azra’il 4 man link team

Ground transport:
Level 1: Civilian ambulance
Level 2: Maghariba TAG
Level 3: APC with functional weapons

Transport Flyer:
Level 1: Civilian medevac
Level 2: Military CSAR flyer
Level 3: Heavy Assault Transport

Force levels are rolled randomly on a D6 and may be mixed, i.e a level 2 security force with a level 3 ground vehicle and a level 2 flyer.

STASIS POD:
May be hacked. The hacker may shut down or protect the pod’s controls from other hackers. A doctor may manipulate the controls as a long skill in base to base and attempt to kill or revive the caliph. Hackers can fail three attempts before anti hacking protocols shut them out. Doctors may attempt to revive the caliph up to three times, if they fail three times the Caliph dies.
The pod may be destroyed by weapons fire or close combat.
The pod may be carried by no less than 4 models, who move at half speed and count as a combined order. While carrying the pod these models may perform nor other action.

Loading onto ground transport is a short skill, loading onto flying transports is a long skill. Once the pod is loaded, the flyer may attempt to leave that same turn, on a new order.

VICTORY CONDITIONS:
HAQ ISLAM WINS IF: the Caliph is loaded in an intact pod onto the flyer and it successfully takes off.

SAVE THE CALIPH FORCE WINS IF: Caliph gets away OR the other two forces are in retreat or eliminated. This force may drive, carry the pod or load the pod onto the flyer.

STOP THE CALIPH FORCE WINS IF: They capture the pod, destroy the pod with weapons fire or hack and kill the Caliph, OR either friendly force is unable to move the pod. This may include destroying the ground vehicle or the flyer.

KILL’EM ALL FORCES WIN IF: They Capture or kill the Caliph OR put the Haq Islam security team on retreat or eliminate them and kill 50% of one other force OR they put both of the other 2 forces in retreat or eliminate them.
STOP shooting the painted ones!
