Interior gameplay

The lady and I are making our first big terrain buy this month, but we're having trouble with one final question. Playable interiors or no? I was hoping you guys might throw a few thoughts and opinions my way regarding it so we can make a decision about what to get based on that; If we aren't gonna use playable interiors then things like Bandua's Q buildings and such will work, if we are going interior then we need stuff more in line with D5 or Warsenal.

I always use terrain with playable interiors because :

1 - Doorways are a great source of cover I regularly use. Being able to move from full interior cover - shoot from the doorway - then move back to total cover is a great option.

2 - Interiors are a great way to put a model (or models) out of harms way from AD: Combat Jump in you DZ.

3 - Interiors are life savers. Building with 2 doors can allow a model to advance towards the enemy while avoiding those deadly Sniper/HMG fire lanes.

Very modular, affordable (100 euros = free shipping worldwide), and due to the modularity very accessible for indoor play (just take of the roof, or the third floor, or one of the sides, etc.). Their Futura City even comes with furniture.

Personally, I enjoy making tables as 'real' as possible. So indoor accessibility is a must for me.

I have a mix of playable interiors and closed buildings. Interiors are nice and can add a dimension to the game but the reality is sometimes they can be a hassle to easy play on. This of course varies by which manufacturer you go to but if you have something like the aforementioned Bandua (others are available) then you also have an option to for rooftop/lof blocking play for ease.

I'd answer your question with a question: which of these is you?

If you play any RPGs, like fun terrain projects, or enjoy story-driven scenarios, go with the interiors.

If you mainly play ITS or pretty vanilla scenarios, it's likely not worth the extra effort.

I either go ask enterable or not enterable.

It's a major pet peeve of mine that people change tables around in between tournament rounds because they think something is play through/in when it's not.

Playable interiors.

I use cut clear acrylic slots for the roofs. Not the full size of the roof panel, but wide enough to hold a 40mm base and can generally slide across the roof. That way I can play on the roof of the building, easily access the interior and not have to do a bunch of terraforming midgame
