There was a slight issue with a utility bill that held things up, but it will be sorted in time for the ELMOR sets to go up on the site :(

Thought I'd mention that the acrylic bits for the Surgery Shack will be in frosted green like the foodbooth for release, rather than the, um, 'vibrant' orange shown above ;)

It's true. I am. Some WIP photos - Bit naughty as Warmill hasn't seen any images of it yet, not even any idea of the colour scheme, just gave me the frames :twisted:

Only realised when I put it together the colour scheme has a little bit of "Red 5" from Star Wars about it!

Very WIP at the moment, only done the basic block colours, working on the fans and the hatch at the moment, then onto all the interior gubbins. The floor is mostly blocked out and stencilled already. Then onto weathering and dirtying it up.

I like the classic Star Wars color scheme! Looking good so far. How easy is it to put together?

Really easy, all the kits come with Ikea style instructions of which bits go where and what order to assemble them in. Holds together without any glue as well (although I always use a bit of tacky glue on the lugs just for extra strength). As Warmill stuff tends to be multi-layered/multi-textured, unlike some other MDF stuff which is just "flat" I guess it might seem a bit more daunting to put together but the bigger kits like this one go together in sub-assembles (like making plastic tank kits). For this kit you make each wall individually by pushing the wall and the angled roof onto some internal buttresses, you then plug in the top edge of each of those twin external buttresses and then they sort of snap in at the bottom trapping the detail plates at the foot of each wall in place. While I was putting it together I was enjoying the engineering! :geek:

I can't imagine anyone would struggle to put this together reasonably quickly. I have absolutely zero to do with any production/design, but I know from gaming with Warmill that stuff goes through numerous prototypes for ease of putting stuff together and anything a bit more complex usually gets playtested with Infinity games to iron out any problems with using them in a game (both physical, durability and gameplay).

Looking good there dude! Me and Ed have often said orange and white is the best colour scheme :D

While Ed's been busy painting roads and Surprize has been busy painting a Surgery Shack, I spent today building myself a fort from rejected PUP walkway frames. There is a method to my madness, as after being asked about it at several shows we're going to start selling walkway packs separately. The walkways were designed to be as flexible as possible, basically walkway lego, and this just developed pretty organically by playing around with it. I think we'll produce a few new parts for it as well, as the dimensions of the existing parts basically grew out of the PUP dimensions.

I'll be taking it down the club for a game when it's painted, whether that's by me with primer sprays or Ed with the airbrush. I've glued it into chunks so assembly takes less than 5 minutes. Also, I've glued the fence supports to the walkways, but not the fence panels, so they can still be removed from the supports. This way we can either add more walkway by just popping the fences out (the supports also act as double sided walkway clips) or gradually destroy the fort in-game by removing fences as they get damaged.

Yeah that sounds like a good idea! That setup is made up of a lot of square corner pieces which would make it pretty expensive as it is, but it was pretty obvious once it was made where it could be made in fewer parts but still be very flexible.

Modelled this up after watching way too many Dawn of War shoutcast ;). The central column can be lifted out of the large base, and has a 40mm base on the bottom. Now to get it ready for Salute next weekend!

This all looks amazing. I bought the Happy Noodle stand, and couldn't be more happy. It went together easily, and painted up nicely. The detail work is great, and I'd stands out well on the table.

Could you give us a rough release calendar as to your other buildings and projects? You've got so many teasers for great projects up, and I'd like to know (roughly) when I might get my grubby little paws on them.

Keep up the amazing work!

Glad you like our stuff! To answer your question, the SkyLevel ELMOR set will be available for pre-order on Monday to be shipped the week after Salute,with a pre-order bonus. We'll be releasing the other products over the course of May to give us a chance to do pre-order incentives for each of them.

We'll have a small amount of all the new releases available at Salute next Saturday if you want to get anything early :D.

I might have counted wrong but the top picture is of the "Colony" set? The mega city I think contains an extra 18" of straight sections and some more high level legs than are in the picture?

It's actually both! The road in that pic goes:

RE - S - S - S - S - S - R
T C
C C
C LR - S - R
T
RE

RE = road end
S = straight
T = Tjunction
C = Corner
RCCR = skylevel ramp
LR = low ramp

So what you have there is the entire raised part and ramp is the colony, but all the parts shown in the pic come in the mega city set which has enough high supports and connectors to have everything at skylevel.

Cool. Its a lot of road either way!

I have just sneakily run off an A4 sheet of custom graffiti decals on my work laserjet printer. Only problem is I really need to stay here and do some more work instead of running home to apply some to a surgery shack straight away! - pictures as soon as I have played with them.

A bit of both, for each release we'll do a bonus which will either be a straight discount or some extra goodies depending on what works best.

The accessories are a separate set, but may just be the pre-order bonus for the Mega City set ;)

How sturdy are the SkyLevel struts?

If they're only a single 3mm layer thick and not cross-braced, they seem like they could be prone to bending and breaking.

You'd be surprised, the MDF we use is a higher grade than average and is stronger than you might think. The Battlesnap fortress we painted up almost 2 years ago lives in a cardboard box without any protective material and gets hurriedly assembled and broken down every time we do a show, and has held up without any damage.

Will be updated after Salute, and will be about 40% cheaper than it currently is.

In other news, rush over to the terrain section and check out the Surgery Shack Surprize painted up, it's flippin' awesome :D
