I was able to cut the prototype for the bridge rest stop and the test patterns for the corners and walkways. There will be removable acrylic inserts on the top of the rest stop. With a solid top it was difficult to move minis. The removable parts should make this a little easier. It uses the same staircase from the previous kit to further tie things together. The little benches need a little more work. They are a little too short right now for decent cover. I think I am going to have to add backs to them.

The corners turned out well but I am going to do a couple of minor changes to them to reinforce the wall side. The textures are going to be great once painted. I just need to add something to the center of the T intersection. maybe a signpost or something. It is pretty open there. I think I am going to skip the 4 way intersection for this reason. While cool I can just see it being a no mans zone in practically every game.

I'm very interested in this as I, as stated, I've been wanting an elevated mall. The addon section, with what appears as tables, looks wonderful.
But I do have some questions. The addon section appears to have a support in the middle. Is it possible to have a pair of supports off to the side? I want to be able to span a 6" wide road with this.

I noticed the same thing on the supports. The final will have 3 locations for the extra supports, 1 middle and 1 on either end. You can also use the stairs on either end as supports if needed.

I started playing around with bases and toppers for the new stackable buildings to allow them to work as a base for the walkway system. This is still early but the idea is to have different toppers and porch options to help customize the buildings so they don't all look alike. I hate the idea that every building is the same so this way you can mix it up a bit.

Next up is a replacement for an early ladder module. The original one had a ladder in it an it just out of place. I had already used it in another designs and wanted something more high tech looking. I decided to go with parallel elevators. Each level has space for minis and there is enough space to easily fit a medium sized base without getting it stuck. The acrylic at the top will likely stay in the final design.

Next to add all the signs and cut the rest of the straight sections so I can lay out the full table. That work should begin next week.

About the 4-way intersection, maybe you could do a roundabout instead? It would take up more space but allows to put a small building, a fountain or something in the middle. Would make a great centerpiece togheter with some kind of objective room for scenarios. I am guessing it would be to big though?

This is new stacked building set I am working on. These are just the main blocks. The final set will include balconies and fire escapes to give a few more options. I'm looking into the feasibility of an interior wall kit to go with but that may not be part of the initial release. The signs are test models to see if the shapes and attachment will work out. It will also tie to the existing walkway project.

Looks good! I like the idea of some internal walls, but wouldn't mind if this was an "update set" later.
Any plans for acrylic windows?

Those elevators combined with that walkway rest stop will make a perfect station for my monorail. I can't wait until these are available!

Add acrylic windows to those buildings and I'll buy a ton. This is the set I've been waiting for. :-)

The Elevated walkway set is almost ready for full production. I just need to decide what the final uprights will look like. Currently I have 3 different designs cut. I just need to decide what the final design will be.





Next up the engraving on the parts. I have decided to raster engrave the textures. This gives a better relief and more options. Here are come closeups so you can see the difference.




Lastly the stair cases. I made a couple of versions with rails to see how they looked. I like the closed design of the original but the rail openings give it a little more character.

Changing my mind on the support beams, I think I prefer the middle one from a style perspective. But options 1 or 2 would be fine with me, 3 looks a little plain. The 3rd option might be more appealing, to me, with a little engraved design, but I'm sure that ups the cost.


I will agree that the stairs do look better with open rails. However, in the desire of more cover, can we have the option of closed railings or half as many open sections?

Finally, any chance of have some pattern engraved on the side of the stairs? They seem a little too plain.

The set it officially done. After some thinking about it I went back to the original upright design from the paper test with some minor modifications to better support the weight. I am getting all the parts ready for photography this week. With any luck I will be posting them in the next week. Here is the preview. This is a rough 3.5'x5' table so filling a 4'x6' or 4'x8' table will not be a problem. Combine this with the other set and you have a great mulit-level battlefield. The uprights create a tree jungle by them self but when you add the other random clutter the battles will really be about area control.

Yes they will all line up. There are 2 ways to build that option, one using one of the stacks as a base or using the regular legs. The kit will include both options.
