Sorry was AFK watching Walking dead. :)

I havent posted ANY stuff other than WWX on this forum mate, as I came over from Infinitythegame (Broadside),
Just created this to come over here as I knew that there are like minded people that like skirmish games :)

If 1x person finds this helpful, I will be glad I have spent my time here on this thread. And when my headache goes
I will be painting more and contributing to the Painting threads and Archeologies thread.
I will be making a desert board to go with my Sarissa terrain and Haqqislam force and ofc WWX.

I hope you will then see me in better light. :D

Awesome show!! This past episode left a bit to be desired but the next episode on sunday is going to be a doosy!! Never really into zombie movies before but I am hooked on the walking dead! I could start a thread talking about that on it own!

I think these guys definitely look a lot better imho. As a lot of people said the old ones looked to static and meh. The should look quite nice with the wave 2 as there seems to be a lot of diversity now.
Still hasn't changed my mind on Warrior Nation though. But I will get all the Enlightened bosses and maybe a starter of these to practice shooting in the face
Just thinking that a afew of their body parts could look like nice scatter terrain? Not sure how many extra bits will be on the sprues though.

Nope, I've had that feeling about the promotion of the game as well.

@Athanadros
Glad you like Walking Dead to! :D

@Levitas
No probs mate, it is quite hard to tell how the written word implies feeling, especially in the hypersensitive society that is War Gaming, hehe. :)

Have you guys seen the new Hired Hands for the Outlaws yet? I have to say they are top notch (not just saying that btw). I mean I like the 1st wave, but the second..... there're just in another league, which I would never thought I would see myself saying. Also the stat cards look good and with a bit of a touch-up of a few details, they will be very attractive. They are a bit like the WM/H cards, but then again, it is hard to make stat cards look different imho.

Also there is a free mini coming out today I think. It was supposed to come out last night, but I think there must have been a hold up.
Let me know if you want the pics of the cards and the Outlaw HH an dI will get them for you. :)

Yeah it's really a great show. So who do you think is going to get the honor of killing the govener. Could be Mishon, Rick or Merle. Personally I think they might have him get wounded then eaten by walkers. Very interested to see how this next episode pans out.
I do have to say I am happy Rick has basically come back from crazy town. That was getting a bit tiring.

Loving this Kickstarter so far. Just need to convince the Infinity group that this would be a fun side venture. I'll probably pick up 3 decent skirmish forces(not interested in big games or vehicles, which look "meh" to me) and then build a balsa wood town and run some games. Mostly just interested in the mini's but playing is great too.

Those Outlaws are cool and all but I LOVE the original Outlaws with the Duster coats on. Those scream bad-ass to me. New HHs have cool poses, but that armor is another "meh" to me. Heads are awesome.

So many opinions, so little time...

Really hoping they have some extra bits somewhere, from the one sprue that was shown it seems empty and not very space saving. But I don't know the process of model making, so maybe that is just how it has to be.

I think the Enlightened sprue was a test sprue. IIRC there will be spare parts also. So customising forces can be done. I am with you on the skirmish thing, but I want a few vehicles also, just so I have all the sweet options. It could also help in a few scenarios perhaps? I like the big coats to, I wasn't saying that I didn't like them, just love the thick set armour. Hopefully get the look of all 10 today :D Maybe they have coats and armour?

There are a few people building balsa terrain on the forum and it looks pretty sweet tbh. Only taken a short time, and I think stuff like that helps the community grow imho. I used to like looking on the Archeologies room on the Infinity site. The Haqq board based on the pyramid was awesome and really liked how he showed the progression of it. :)

Update for some of the re-sculpted figures.

Love the Outlaws with the long jackets and heavy armour. I think my main faction may be between Outlaws and Warrior Nation now. Will have to wait till wave 2 of the light vehicles I think

Mmm pretty outlaws.

Really not liking that I'm going to be stuck with a bunch of the same starter HHs. I'd like to trade out for the wave 2s for some diversity, and unfortunately I don't have the funds to spend on extra HH boxes at $50 a box...

However, I am getting a lot so I'll be happy enough with that.

Are you getting 2x Outlaw starters? If not, get the starter for the wave 1 HH and if you have EXTRA boxes of the free HH you can use them as wave 2. In game they will all have different points costs and equipment so having the wave 1 versions will be handy to. I love the wave 2 aesthetically the most, but I think having a mixture of them will be handy as these are the basic troops. :)

You could always remove the Rotten for $40? if you have not done so already. :)

OUCH!!! These are "Light Support Vehicles"!!! I don't think there is anything light about it's firepower!! lol
I really like this, as you could use it in a few games I am think. Maybe some some snow mobile in another scifi game?
I think you should be able to customise these a great deal also, maybe even turn it into an aircraft? :D

Image

The new Wave 2 Warrior Nation guys are gonna be a lot faster than the wave 1 HH. They will also have more attacks.
I am not aware of the points cost for these yet, but I would think that they will be released in 3 days when the Beta rules
are up and available for download. I was hoping for faster troops to use as cannon fodder to get other troops into the fray,
but perhaps the mighty Elk will be a nice threat magnet for those nasty RJ1027 rifles :)

Image

I am hoping we get all new Wave 2 today as this maybe my first choice of faction.
But outlaw models are looking just too good at present, so I think it will come down to the wire on the
light support vehicles. I am hoping that all the wave 2 LSV's are faction specific, but I guess being outlaws
they can steal and modify as they wish. :)

Does anyone have any ideas what the fire breathers will be? I can only think of some sort of lizard, as the
Warrior Nation does not trust mechanical vehicles. I guess it could be some sort of dragon but it would have
to be skilfully brought into WWX and I am unsure how they would do it tbh.

LOL, I really can't fault this one!! I want a real one is all can say. /giggles like a girl

Well I was wrong before thinking that the Warrior Nation would have a huge lizard as a fire bringer.
My only thought is, how are they towed into battle? That gatling gun looks like it will ruin someones day for sure, hehe.
I also guess this is how we can keep the enemies heads down as we are running at them with axes. :D

What do you guys think?

More Updates just in. we are getting a lot of love today on the update front, LOL.
Love the headdresses on these. More attacks on these guys and they can move quicker also. going to be nice play testing them when the beta rules are out :D

Well there is definitely a lot of love for the Black Jack on our forum, thats for sure. I think it is making it hard for people to choose which faction to choose. :)

________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Just seen this on the WWX Kickstarter page. Has some great info on a new faction that has yet to be announced (until now ofc).
I really like what he has planned in order to protect brick and mortar stores as I really do think that it will keep them alive and kicking. :)

Start Quote

"Saw this in the Kickstarter comments. Has some good information about future factions Lawmen and Holy Order. Does a brief mention of Confederate, El Ejercito Dorado and Watchers.

http://www.40kradio.com/wp-content/uploads/Show58.mp3

Starts at 29 minutes and last for about 30 minutes."

End Quote

Anyway, hope you enjoy. :)

I would to wish all those that have taken part in the discussions relating to WWX, a big thank you for allowing us to use your forum
and hopefully allow a few of those interested people a chance to get on board a new project and game that we are likely to see in the future.

I understand a few of you doubted the validity of this project and also the identity of myself and I am sure you have had your reasons for doing so.

I would like to inform you all that the project was successfully funded with over $332,000 and 1027 backers.
So I would hope that some of you on here found your peace with this project and moved on to more positive projects,
after all we are all gamers and I am sure that our paths will cross again in other games and hobbies and beers shall be shared. :)

Thanks and I hope to see you more on other areas of the forum shortly. But for now I think I need a break. My mate is taking me away
for a stay in her holiday home by the coast and I shall return a little less stressed from all the debating and talking over peoples trading issues. :)

Hope to speak to you next week, and I shall continue to try and remember the forum Edit last post rule so there will be a little Samurai that I don't stress out. :D

Cheers Samurai for watching my back and steering me in the right direction.

See you next week,

Mick + the WWX Community. :)

Hi guys, /wave

I R back from my long weekend away at the coast (Sandsea near Whitby, North Yorkshire, England)
And I have to say it was really relaxing after not having a holiday in over 12 years!!
It allowed me time to think about what I want to get and maybe a few design ideas for a board.

As most people I have seen are going for a very traditional wild west theme with a slight Sci-Fi appearance.
I was thinking of going more Sci-Fi with a slight Wild West twist. Building That I was thinking of would include:

1, Drive in cinema,
2, Multi-storey car park above shopping area in order to create a bit of hight,
3, Motor Vehicle showroom, so to make use of the spare LSV's I will be getting,
4, Various shops,
5, Block of flats + houses,
6, Some sort of market square,
7, Fort,
8, Refuelling station,
9, Park,
10, Various street furniture, i.e. street lights, benches, railings...
11, Police station / Jail,
12, Train station (thinking of an elevated train system that runs above the city)

The Wild West twist would include making these items as if they only had the materials of that time.
so a block of flats would be a few storeys high and made from wooden slats and maybe an external lift system.
My board will be a 6x4 and I have 16x 2ft x 2ft gaming tiles made from MDF.
I shall be making them look sandy in appearance so that the terrain will be placed on top.
Not sure if I will be making a road system build into the sand yet, we will see.

My forces will consist of Outlaws, Warrior Nation and The Union (1x Repulsive level on each, so all units would be sourced for each faction).
So I expect to have to create a slightly different theme for the Warriors so some sort of semi-permanent structured teepees / shacks with perhaps some sort of warrior testing ground like a gladiatorial arena.

So what do you guys think, I would be very happy to hear your opinions about how mentally derailed I am for thinking
of going down this route. I just want to produce something a little different from the norm. :)

Hi guys,

Just a quick update that the WWX Spreadsheet will be going out within the next couple of hours.
This will be used to list all items that you require from the Kick Starter. The KS price will remain until 1st April 2013
and then go to 30% off for a 2 month period instead of a 30% discount voucher that could only be utilised once! :)

Cheers all

Mick

Hi guys,

Sorry been away for a bit. Been spending a bit of time with the girlfriend, I have my priorities sorted now though and been doing a spot of building for my WWX table.
I thought I would try and lean more towards Sci-Fi more than Wild West, but I still want that Wild West look so will be making my terrain appear to be made from materials
sourced in the Wild West era (except the computer consoles etc, which will be used in the lift operation panels instead of stairs).

I am just building my first piece and have got a little further than the picture indicates.
I am just building the framework to the lift, but have to wait for glue to dry to get all the layers of the stage correct.

Anyway, How are you guys getting on? Are you doing anything for your boards? or are you busy doing something else atm?

Mick
