Russian Doll buildings are easier than you think, though they need a tiny little bit of practice. My text on that matter is sheduled to be published on the Data Sphere blog tomorrow. I can show you the ropes of cardbuilding by now.

Cardobard is fun (and cheap!) to work with :D

Still, if you'd prefer to start with the space base tiles, be my guest :)

As for Saturday, I'm afraid I'm busy already - Kathara Khan will be here for a game of Firestorm: Armada.

Yesterday i've done full scaled 1,2x1,2m mat using Photoshop and project from toposolitario.com. I can share this file if someone want to use it. I've a question: what do you think about print such a mat directly on pvc 1mm and cut it on four equal pieces 60cmx60cm, is it functional? The cost is propably 160pln

4x 60x60 cm is defintiely more portable than 120x120cm.

Still, it is about 30zł short of what you'd have to pay for a MAS eye-candy piece. Try to catch with our X-Wing crowd, they have some mats printed on PVC, and see if the quality does make sense for you.

Compared to lasercut MDF, they're almost free. Then again, lasercut is an entirely different kettle of fish...

Cardboard - I buy it at Skala, y'know, the art shop on Plac Żołnierza. 3mm is 8,50zł for a 70x100cm.

Glue - I got this one from Castorama, again 8,50 zł or so. While you're there, they have Olfa segmented knives. They are not cheap, but having used various cheap ones over the years I must say Olfa's quality makes a difference.

Get yourself a rubber cutting mat and a metal ruler, and you're good to go :)

As for playing this week, I'm sorry, I don't have any afternoon available :(

This might be a good idea for a mat / mobile table system:
http://allegro.pl/okazja-makieta-tables ... 10973.html
Of course it requires painting, but sounds good if you need to move it around and looks better than flat table.

Placing the buildings might be a bit problematic, but all in all looks nice.

Guys, anyone willing to take over painting the new buildings...? Those I make as a part of the Cardbuilding project... I just don't have enough time / will to get it all done in a sensible timeframe.

Just take some large brushes, some gesso as a basecoat (I guess), some acrylics from the art shop, and give it a go...? It is not going to need a precise job on the level of miniature painting (which is, actually, my doom whenever I try to paint terrain...). One colour on the inside, two on the outside (unless you ant to add a separate one for the ladders), maybe some drybrush and / or salt weathering and we're basically done...

Regarding resources, I have the spraycans left over from the summer. Theoretically, they should work in winter temperatures too.Or so the producer claims.
I can pass them along.

I hope everybody will find a brush, water and some salt for weathering (ordinary kitchen salt, though the more coarse, the better - I used "rock salt").

I don't have the paints to be applied with brush. Well, one day. I'm not yet ready to part with my jar of gesso.

If you can pass some easy tutorials (links will do) I can try and make something of it for next two weekends.
So you've got actual built terrain pieces and some spray paint?
Let me know when is the best time, so maybe I can drive up, pick the stuff off you and give it a spin.
Painting terrain would be a good starting point before going for the miniatures themselves, right? :)

Nope, no tutorials - I had to learn the stuff the hard way. I might try to knock something up for you though.

As for terrain - first, I think, we should deal with the stuff already in our terrain box in Fenix (one L-shape upper floor waith at my place, but three more & the big warehouse are in Fenix).

And no, painting terrain with spraycans is oh so completely different from painting miniatures...

got a nice fun game with Stiopa today...
it went pretty much even until his Dragao got hacked by Zero hacker, then Prowler set up all 3 demo charges on it, and pressed the trigger, from my perspective it looked pretty much reminiscent of one scene:

Heh, it was my fault for overextending with Dragao. Well, too long of a game brake. Working on it ;) Good game though.

And in earlier game Dragao managed to take down a few monks, Kuang Sheeps, and one very unlucky Hac Tao. I'll have to field it more often.

Well, I hope that either Jonasz or Stavrogin will be available.

Regarding the terrain spraypainting - a tutorial is awaiting publication (don't know the date yet, though). The paints are awaiting whoever is willing to take them from me (I have it all packed into a neat paper bag, 12 cans in various state of being used up, but all still functional).

This week I might make it on Wednesday, maybe on Saturday too.

Offtopic - is there a way to change the default font color? Changing it manually for every post seems stupid as hell

As far as I know, nope.
What do you dislike so much about the default black font...?

Also - how sure is your presence tomorrow, can I count for a game (type, point level)?

Unrelated - PanO guys, give a look to the good ol' Allegro. A whole bunch of models have showed up today.

p.s. Errhile - would you be able to bring the spray cans to the shop tomorrow? I have time this weekend, and could quickly pick them up tomorrow around 7PM, pick up buildings on Friday, give it a go and have them back in shop Mon/Tues.
(if that's problematic - don't worry, I'll try and arrange something else)

Oh, I can do it I guess. A matter of arranging the transportation, but that's something I can manage.
I could even lend you a backpack to make it easier.

On an unrelated matter - I've printed, cut (and glued onto cardboard) the Paradiso train. While not as stellar as the MDF trains from Bandua, Customeeple and other compains, it will do for a time (and yes, I'm tempted to try and build a cardboard one. But that would be an opus magnum no doubt!). I just have t seal the edges on it, and should be able to drop it at the store tomorrow :)
