Continuation of my old forum topic.
Today had a pleasure to meet new player on the block with his Knightly Orders.
We prepared 150 pts lists, drew the usual YAMS cards and rolled for initiative.
Knight's superior training and discipline allowed them to move first, but sneaky Bakunin urban guerillas were preparing an ambush...
My opponent deployed a 4-strong link of sergeants in cover, with sniper ready to fire. On one flank they had magister knight, on the other santiago with spitfire.
I deployed a 5 strong link of moderators including own sniper on a catwalk opposite of enemy link, with sniper ready to shoot at first move of enemy, and rest lying prone.
3 zeroes infiltrated the abttlefield, one on a roof with mission to kill a civilian perched on said roof, and 2 guarding flanks with mines deployed nearby.
finally my sin-eater with mk12 went overwatch on most likely santiago approach path.
My opponent started with impetuous move of the magister, who was spotted by my moderator sniper and shot, with one wound inflicted.
Evidently ordered to silence my sniper, order sergeant sniper attacked , instantly killing poor moderator (nad breaking the moderators link).
Next move belonged to the santiago, who engaged my sin -eater in closely contested firefight, barely enough successful to bring neurocinetics user down unconscious.
Finally, magister advanced on the flank stopping short of some suspicious camo markers.
My first turn started with 2 most heavily armed models out of action, but zeroes moved in to fill the gap. my right flank zero engaged in a 4-orders futile fire exchange with the magister, who eventually decided to take cover behind a wall. This left him in the sights of rooftop zero who promptly dispatched the magister, then charged the civilian and brawled him unconscious, with a critical hit, no less! (having the civilian dead was my double up)
Seeing the civilian in dire threat, Santiago climbed the ladder to roof and shot my zero unconscious, then went prone behind some convenient barrels, and succesfully sabotaged the building. (this was his double up) He had used the lt order in the process... (note that I was aware of him being lt anyway)
With ever fewer orders and models it was make or break time for Bakunin force. My left flank zero raced to ladder, climbed up and shot santiago unconscious with surprise attack from camo, this not only made pan-o knights lose lt, it was actually my next objective. This also sealed the fate of the civilian, and left me in possesion of the building, another of my objectives.
At this moment my opponent has declared surrender, and considering his low number of orders it was understandable.
Final score 5-2 for Bakunin.
(my last objective was not to allow enemy into my DZ and unsurprisingly was met too)
