EA is pretty different to everything before Epic 40k, it has some of the tactical fluidity of Infinity but keeps more of the 40k feel than Epic 40k did.

They call it Warmahordes at my local shop.
Sadly, it's pretty much the only miniature game anyone plays there, which is why we play Infinity at each others' houses instead.
I used to be a huge Warmahordes fan. I owned virtually every Cygnar model and Cygnar-friendly Merc. But after my first game of Infinity, I never wanted to pick up my Cygnar again. So I sold them a few months later for a few hundred bucks.

I can't say about Epic personally, but Battlefleet Gothic had a nice set of rules.

You know, you're right. WotR was a lot of fun. It's also the only tabletop game I got my wife into: she's got a bucket load of Orcs and Mordor Trolls! However, I thought the game was also very unbalanced in favor of evil. Khamûl cleared out entire tables with his unit. All the Ringwraiths were hard to deal with.

Those are the skirmish rules. "War of the Ring" was the full army set of rules.

Some of our group have been getting pretty heavy into Dark Age too.

Bonus points if you import that terrain idea into Infinity!

Landsharks!!!
In Deep Wars, here's a basic outline of how it works:
The NPC is either Defensive or Offensive. Each type of NPC has it's own stat line, and when it attacks a player, the other player does the dice rolling.
Defensive:
Creature remains stationary. If a player's model moves within the creature's Zone of Control, the creature will move to, and attack, that model, and will continue to do so each round until killed, or until the model retreats from the ZoC.
Offensive:
As soon as a model moves within the creature's line of sight, at the top of each round, the creature will make a move towards the closest visible player model. Once it is in CC with it, it will attack until killed, or until the target is dead.
In the game, certain types of casters can also summon sea creatures (like Aquaman), and the player can control them, and have them attack as well.
There are other dangerous terrain in the game as well, such as hot water vents (volcanically heated water/steam vents), unstable cliff shelves, ect.
