Remotes, how often do you use one besides the HMG?

Just curious, how often do you guys use remotes that are not the HMG reaction one?

-FO + Combi
-Guided Missile Launcher
-Weapon-less sensor/repeater

HMG: Big fan, love it.
FO+Combi: Can be fun, but generally find a cheaper FO elsewhere in the list.
GML: Used this once, it was effective but made the game not fun in my opinion
Sensor/Repeater: Used once, had it's purpose, but wasn't sold on it.

I've used the EVO/Baggage remote a few times, its generally cheap and the extra 20 points for VP are nice in tournament games

You mean the "other 3 basic remotes", right? Ikadrons are awesome, and I get good use from the Yaoxie.
The repeaterbot was good for cheap CA orders, until Ikadrons kicked it out of that position. I keep wanting to try the Sensor-FO marking and GML/GMSR combo, but I keep saying "not this time". Still, Shasvastii (lacking MSVs) could get some use of the sensor one.

In Haqqislam I field the Evo repeater quite allot as a cheap order generator and to generally add its special rules to either 1 counter guided missiles or 2 help land AD 3 troops.

In the Shock Army I field the Armbots: Peacemakers in basically every list because a Heavy Shotgun and a Spitfire in the middle of the field (Mech Deployment) is freaken scary to most and to top it off they have their 2 heavy flamer Auxbots as well. I also on occasion use the Armbots: Bulleteers.

In my Nomads I've yet to purchase the (insert name of) Zonds pack yet but it will be my next purchase so I can use their super climb + guided missile shenanigans and the Tsyklon Sputniks fill the same hole as the aforementioned Armbots: Peacemakers as being scary mid field rem's right off the bat plus they have the added benefit of extending the range of my hackers.

Finally in my Yu Jing I near constantly field the Yaoxie Rui Shi because sometimes you can be light on MSV 2 troops and this is a cheap way of getting it into a list.

I love remotes with heavy flamers they end link groups nicely. But I will admit that only remotes I've found useful have an HMG or a heavy flamer.

I just bought Valthonis' Corregidor and it comes with a Total Reaction Remote, so I guess I'll take it out for a test run; it'll be the first time I use a remote. Might proxy it as an EVO one instead, cause I got a lot of Hellcats.

Thinking about it more I could see the basic Combi + FO model useful in ITS or Paradiso scenarios. Generally 6-4 so should be fast to grab objectives, just a bit frail though.

I love remotes, I play plenty of all robots + "hey this is my Lt. because it's the only human on the board I dare you to come and get her" lists.

I used to use the Meteor Zond all the time per-human sphere.
Also the 8pt REMs.

Post HS, the GML REMs saw action for a year and then I grew tired of that tactic.

Since then, I almost always use Baggage bots and when playing with Nomads, Sputniks.

Last time I used the GML bot, I had 5 FOs in the army as well (well, 10 models with FO anyway) and it felt like cheating to light up my opponent's hacker with the first one - even taking into account the -6 for his TO camo mod) and nuking it, then doing it again on several other models - since he couldn't even hack the missiles to stop them anymore.

I use remotes in haqq quite a bit. In fact, the HMG one is the one I use the least. I probably use the repeater the most for a cheap order. The Sensor can be really good on dense terrain when paired with the GML. Nothing says "stop camping" like getting marked from the other side of a wall. Of course I've been on the other side of that with the much more efficient nomad version, too.

I don't own any Yu Jin remotes but I proxy the evo repeater a lot, mostly just to land tiger soldiers on target. I've also proxied the MSV remote in JSA paradise mission, mostly because it's the only MSV 2 JSA has.

I never use CA remotes just because I don't own them and they're so bizarre looking I don't feel right proxy-ing them. The CA total reaction remote looks great, though; if I had it I'd probably use it all the time.

My overall problem with remotes is that they cost a lot in real dollars. I'd rather get a box of Odalisque, Haramaki, Kaplan or Kum bikers than a box of remotes.

I've used the EVO repeater quite a few times for Nomads. As someone else said here, great utility while adding an extra order for almost no points.

The box came with a total reaction Rifle model, which is pretty blah... Seven points more and I can get the HMG one. I just haven't bought the HMG one since life gets in the way of spending.

The rifle one's helped in defending my DZ, and I've teamed it up with the Sin Eater to completely dominate areas...

Two of them have been in maybe 30-40% of my lists.
