Chain of Command

by Ryu-Okami » June 26th, 2015, 9:00 am

So when your Lt dies on your oponents active turn. Do you get to have your chain of command go into affect at the end of your oponents active turn or do you need to wait tell the end of your active turn?

It kicks in at the end of the opponents turn, so effectively you're not going into Loss of Lieutenant.

I don't get your problem, to be honest.

The point of Chain of Command skill is to avoid being in Loss of Lieutenant.

Being in LoL affects you at the beginning of your active turn (limiting your abilities to generate Orders).
LoL is now (i.e. in N3) automatically cancelled at the end of your turn spent in LoL (as long as you still have a model on table capable of standing in). Therefore, it would be pointless to have CoC take effect at the end of your turn in the abovementioned situation.

Taking all that into consideration, I'm sure that CoC takes effect before your turn begins, so despite your Lt falling to the enemy, the command is transferred to the next model within a chain of command, and you start the turn with a new Lt in charge of things (the CoC model).

In fact, AFAIK, you aren't even required to inform your opponent that he ellimnated your Lt untill the end of the game (some scenarios attach extra Victory Points if an enemy Lt was eliminated during a game, even if the mantle was later taken up by a different model).

All private information about a model is considered open information when he's removed from the table.
These pieces of information are Private in Infinity:
» Your troopers’ Cost and SWC.
» The identity of your Lieutenant, whether the one originally
fielded as such or one appointed in-game.
» The presence of Hidden Deployment troopers.
» The presence of Airborne Deployment troopers.
» The presence of troopers disguised by Holoprojector (see
Infinity. Human Sphere).
» The contents of your Camouflage and TO Camouflage
Markers.
» The contents of your Impersonation Markers.
» Any Special Skill, weapon or piece of Equipment possessing
the Private Information Label.
Private Information about a trooper becomes Open Information
when that trooper falls Dead and is removed from play as
a casualty
