Beating multiple rolls with one in FtF

OK, this is kinda crazy. I had a game against a new opponent last night and though we both have played quite a few games but we ended up having a very different idea about a really fundamental rules question.

Basically, if you have someone shooting with a B3 weapon and rolling, e.g., 1,1, and 1 while the opponent in ARO rolls a 2, does the two trump all of the hits since they are lower or only one of them? (Both need 8 to succeed)

We both tried to find a definitive answer and I'm sure it's somewhere in the book but couldn't find it.

Help?

A higher success beats all lower successes (apart from crits). So it's the numbers on the dice, not the number of dice.

Thank you!

This is how I had been playing it and this is how we ended up playing it, but where in the rulebook is this spelled out?

Although it's describing 1 v. 1 rolls, the 3rd point in Face to Face rolls still applies:

'3.Both rolls succeed. In this case, the player that rolled the highest score is the winner of the Face to Face Roll and his action takes effect. As his Skill is assumed to have conquered his adversary’s, the success of the opponent’s roll is not taken into account.'

In your example the two is a higher score than the ones, so the ones are beaten.

Ah, that does make sense (and also answers why I originally played this that way so many years ago and ever since).

Thank you - much appreciated!
