So I can imagine people sometimes thinking: "Why should I visit Data Sphere, when I visit the official forums?"

The first reason, of course, is that we get to showcase all the neat terrain that's not allowed on the CB forums.

But perhaps more importantly, you get fresh rumours without having to go through 20+ page thread of complete BS to get to said rumours.

I would have loved Transimedes to look resigned and hefting a rocket launcher, but this is a pretty interesting sculpt. Neat pose. Work filter blocks Gao-Tarsos for me, so I have no comment.

I do like the ALEPH mini ! Though I find the colour sheme chosen is a bit too dark for the way I imagined the character after having seen the artwork. I think I would paint mine with brown hair etc and make him look "softer" than this one.

Dany Targaryen, aka Lupe Balboa(Nomad). Or the other way around. This is a no brainer, since both my wife and I get a rad spec ops out of the package.

Isobel McGregor revealed, in basically the same pose as Uxia McNeill. I don't feel she transferred as well from art to mini. I mean, she's not bad, but she doesn't really capture the spirit of the artwork to me. Maybe its the older looking face, I dunno. Still like her, just...

I think she is absolutely amazing, she is the first ever Ariadna mini I actually like a lot...

Oh don't get me wrong, I don't think she's a bad sculpt, but not what I expected. My only issue with her(as I do with most minis at first) is look less manga than the concept art. That and her sharing a pose with the other spec ops background girl with two pistols wouldn't have been my first choice.

It could be that there are only so many poses that cast worth a dang.

It´s not just that, with so many minis in a range, you quickly run out of appealing poses, don´t you? Hey, what about "suggest a pose" thread with wire-doll sketches. CB guys come to DS every now and then, someone might inspire them with his pose

At least 500 models and presumably closer to 600 due to the box sets. If we're being generous there's maybe thirty distinct poses for an infantry wargaming model before you veer off into leaping Wulvers or stumbling Minutemen.

That's going to mean lots of duplicate/similar poses, full stop. That it's two relatively recent models in the same faction is unfortunate, though.

I'm not averse to reusing some poses(impossible not to), but I question reusing them for two girls in the same faction with with a somewhat similar role as Special Operations people. Again, its not like I hate the sculpt; I'll probably snatch it up when I get to Ariadna(after I get my JSA and QK stocked up a bit more).

Trying image searches like "dynamic pose sheet" gives some other useful images. Of course at some point things will repeat, but the "same faction in few months"...

Modern releases, IMO, are becoming less risky. Nomads had, in the past, some of the above poses. Now you see lots of plain standing poses. Maybe one of the downsides of the 4 mini boxes. I think they have dollies or are reusing base models. Otherwise how do you explain so much simulitude with multiple miniatures? The dacing guys or the twisted knees/ankles or the belly out (Agema and Hazfa) are becoming "obvious" critics now and then. Or maybe they thought they were great, and had them designed and cast before anyboyd pointed the issues.

Quite funny also that we can get so picky... with other brands you "never saw so much world" to be able to start discussing.

That sword seems kind of... off in the picture. Like, I'm not sure if its a trick of the light, but the blade seems a bit bigger than it should be. Other than that, I like her; she looks all business.

Okay, so as of yesterday I'm now playing four factions (yay ebay): Combined Army, Yu Jing, Nomads, Haqqislam.

And yet I can't get ANY of the Dire Foes packs without having one miniature I can't use. What're the odds?

And does this mean we're gonna get Anaconda stats? Are we gonna get White Star as a playable faction? Or will it just continue to be an orphaned figure until the next book comes out?

Fusilier Angus is straight up awesome. What a tool.

I just think its cute they're making the Dire Foes missions special download codes for PDFs instead of printed; you might as well post them on the website for free, everyone who wants a copy will have one, easy enough.

Also, as a Haqqi/JSA/Nomad player vs my wife's ALEPH/Ariadna, there is at least SOME crossover. I of course want these packs more for the civilians, as I'm big on ambient folks on my table. Perhaps Cho will have some fun with split boxing this?

As for the Annaconda, I'm kind of annoyed the Gencon one wasn't an alternate sculpt, so I could have two. /Firstworld Problem.

Agnus model looks more cardboard cutout than Agnus character would suggest. The other two miniatures in the box are... Or maybe too used to action poses.

But one thing is clear, Isobel is some kind of redhead giant.

The more I think about Dire Foes, the wierder it seems. I mean, if you don't have both armies, you've got a model you can't use. If you go halvsies with a friend, there's only one civilian model; so one person is getting two models and the other is getting one.

That's why it's genius. You get it for the one model, but then you have a left-over. Once you have the left-over you figure you might as well start collecting that faction to go with it.

That's what happened with me for Nomads. I won a Zero. The Zero was free, but the nomad starter and interventor I just bought weren't!

I won an a zero at a tournament.
I don't play nomads.
I wasn't going to start a nomad force.
I gave it to a clubmate who DID have nomads (as a chrimbo pressie) and he used it, though.

I'll be getting the PanO and Yu-jing sets (I want Angus, Yuriko and the comm tech. Bipandra is an extra) and offloading the other faction Spec-ops (isobel and Anyat) to other people who want them. I have no need of a Nomad, Aleph, tohaa, shasvastii or haqqi spec ops figure, so I will not get those sets.
There's enough demand for Isobel that I've already got two blokes fighting over it.

According to the Infinity facebook page, they've confirmed Anaconda stats will be up next week. Finally.

The products are listed, 30 euros each box of three miniatures. Code for PDF download with the scenario, backgrounds and art. Not clear if the art is in the PDF only or repeated as postcard size physical prints, folded posters or what.

But finally we know why Agnus is so stuck up. He carries something in his cube! Keanu Reeves will play Agnus!
