I didn't feel like it was dirty or hard too read, and I really liked the use of a more gritty scheme, which you don't see often in the official stuff. I will agree that sculpt-wise those little triangles are just space fillers, and I was not a fan of them.

I guess it may be more subjective than I thought. Or you might be better at picking out and recognizing shapes than I am. For e the actual shape of the model is very hard to read. I suspect it's a paint job that (for me anyway) would look much better in person.

I'd say you're probably right on Angel's paintjob being part of the reason you can't pick out the shapes.

... It's camouflage, after all! Camouflage is meant to break up the distinctive outlines of troops!

Camo? Where? It's plain sand brown, with zones in grey. Or metal, which would be way worse in the battlefield. "Look at the huge scorpion that is doing mirror signals (and blinking the LEDs)... FIRE UNTIL IT LOOKS ROASTED!!!"

For me it goes in the same category than Lizard paintjob. "Not helping" category.

Yes, blocks of camouflage would do much better...
They say there will be Heaven and the Fount of Kausar,
That there, there will be pure wine and honey and sugar
Fill up the wine cup and place it in my hand
(For) ready cash is better than a thousand credits.

I actually feel like the Lizard is very well defined, with an easy to understand silhouette. The different blocks of colors help a lot. But we ma just process visual information differently.

The issue for me is the inner detail. The silhouette is clear, what goes inside, not so much. I remember someone painted one with different layout and it was like a different TAG. Also some conversions made it completly different.

The truth is that Infinity is made for shiny minis with shiny paintjobs. They need to stand out on the table. Camo paintjobs do the opposite.
