Relic Knights?

Anyone play, or bought the minis just because?

I got Doctrine for the KS because I already owned a metal Princess Mayla model and thought that she'd also be in the starter box... Oops. I didn't get the Noh starter because I already had a couple of the Berserkers and Kenobo, but it looks like I should really get the Noh. They will make GREAT evil Oni for one of the 28mm Samurai skirmish games... wait, they ARE evil Oni!!

Now I need to find $$ for the Cerci starter. I suppose I will be able to use/abuse most of those models as 'civilians' for Infinity at the very least.

A couple people in my group have picked up starters.

During NOVA, while trading all my GW stuff for credit with one of the vendors, I picked up all their Noh Empire stuff (along with all of their Tohaa stuff) and then kinda geeked out to Interruptor about how much I loved the aesthetic of those models and hinted that Infinity should pack the same type of content into their starters.

I've assembled the minis and talked the game up a little to others in the group, but haven't had time to play a game yet. The game mechanics sound pretty neat though.

There are no defined deployment zones as players alternate setting up across the table. There are no defined game turns as players alternate activating individual models using a constant ready queue to determine when they can activate which units. A unit activation basically consists of move-act-move and uses a deck of custom cards to draw and play power required to activate the large variety of abilities. And, there aren't any weapon ranges (I don't think), mainly just LoF-based with about 2-3 pieces of terrain recommended per square foot (played on either a 3x3 or 4x4 depending on game size).

Someone here else described it at a glance as sort of a hybrid between Infinity and Malifaux.

Only got a couple pics of the starter from back when posted on my blog about it.

Actual human-sized units in Relic Knights are close to Malifaux scale. I would love if a TAG-sized sectorial ever got released for Infinity, or maybe just a race and a few units. May be too late for Morats, but... what about if Exrah ever came back like that with most stats/points comparable to a Anaconda without the pilot?

Wait, no pics are showing up?!?

What. The. Fuck?

Goddamnit!!!!!!!! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Fine, try taking a look at The War Store's site: http://www.thewarstore.com/sodapopminia ... ights.html

At any rate, game is highly dependent on LOS-blocking terrain, because there is no maximum range. If you can see it, you can hit it. Mechanics are broadly like Malifaux, you have a hand of cards and need to spend the right combo of colors to activate any given power.

You have a 'dashboard' where you can see which model is up next to activate (so can your opponent), and there are some effects that will punt your character back in line.

The wife and I are heavily considering it; Black Diamond for me and Cerci Speed Circuit for her. I really dig One Shot and the Black Diamond mercenary aesthetic, and my wife is really excited to paint a racing themed group.

I backed the game ages ago with a bunch of friends sharing in the order. I've got all the models for Cerci but haven't had time to play a game as I refuse to play it with unpainted models.

Also, I paint parts as it's easier on my painting, though a helluva time to prime/airbrush.
