Hack and Splat - Nomads Bombadier List

one thing about this list is my opponent commented that my list pretty well f'd over his list, we ended up tying on YAMS cards with most of my guys dead and gone (i had to bail from deployment zone for one of my objectives, Myamoto and Saito cleaned house while i was doing that).

see, his haqq list was doctored [pun intended] to combat guided missile launcher attacks. cant hack an impact detonated dumbfire round now can you? his entire force excepting the two mercs aforementioned spent the game hunkered down and soiling their armour in sheer terror of the grenades raining down upon their heads with frightening accuracy as my rev. custodier had ploped a marker down on top of the building they had taken cover behind.

without further ado, here is the list:

Code: Select all
Combat Group 1     Orders: 9

Lizard Pilot »                                        SWC:0.0     Cost:0
Lizard Squadron » MULTI HMGHeavy GL                   SWC:2.0     Cost:96
Intruder » HMGGrenade                                 SWC:1.5     Cost:44

Alguacil » Combi Rifle                                SWC:0.0     Cost:10
Alguacil » Combi Rifle                                SWC:0.0     Cost:10
Zondbot »                                             SWC:0.0     Cost:3
Zondcat »                                             SWC:0.0     Cost:0

Total SWC: 5.5         Total Points: 299

as was pointed out on the official forums, the intruder HMG is a legit swap with a mobile brigada HMG if you need some extra armour.

Hey! I never thought about it, but "unhackable" is a real advantage that non-guided grenades have over GML. Neat! (goes off to make a lizard + GML list).

Jup, now I want a Lizard. But I'll make sure to wait for the resculpt! Hopefully it won't take as long to arrive as the Raicho...

I like my Lizzy, but it's one of those "love it or hate it" sculpts... it is a joy to thump those grenades downrange though. :D :nomad:

There's not been even a hint of a rumour of a Lizard resculpt.

No, I get that. But considering the amount of resculpts being thrown at us lately, I wouldn't be surprised!

I dunno. Personally, if I have a TAG unit i'd rather go toe-to-toe with the enemy, raining death at them in the form of HMG rounds. Isn't using a mark+spec-fire strategy with a TAG unit kind of underkill? You're looking at a MINIMUM of 2 orders for a shot, and the TAG is essentially an 90-something point GML launcher (minus EXP/AP damage).

I mean, I don't doubt that it is effective... but if i am going to spec-fire grenades, why not just use a Moderator, or Reaktion Zond?

The point of the HGL on a TAG is that you don't need to bother marking anything first. With +3 out to 32" you can bombard most of the enemy deployment zone at BS11.
