So, I think I'll enter my first tournament ever. Unfortunately it's at 400p, which is way bayond anything I've played in Infinity so far. I don't have much hopes on doing very good in it, but I think it'll be a great opportunity to learn and have some fun.

I came up with this list to take, which I should manage model-wise if I borrow a couple minis from a friend (missing one zondcat and a Tsyklon):

I think 400 points is really where you're gonna start seeing HI link teams and TAGS. To that end, I think you're a touch light on the big guns and also your ad choices will hurt group 1's order reserve a lot

I'd also ask about the Zondcats.

There's not a lot of things in Infinity I'd say "might be better to take something else" about, but these guys are often one. While they're a cool idea in principle, having to deploy your Doc/Eng's G:Servant remote in the same AD segment as him/her usually means that either a) the Doc is pretty near what needs healing anyway or b) the servant is nowhere near what needs fixing.

There's quite a lot to be said for buying two Zondbots for the same price, and just deploying them in the normal DZ. The inactive remotes with no visible owner will give away that there's an AD Doc or Eng, but an opponent can usually guess you have AD from how many models you have on the table anyway.
In the end, particularly with two of them for the same price, it means the servants are usually much closer to what needs doing and you can actually get use of the Doc/Eng skill despite deploying most of the way up the table.

Marco - why do you have to deploy a Zondcat in the same segment as his operator?

You activate them in the same Order, and deploy them in the same Order - but both have AD 2, and there is no control distance limit on how far you can operate with a G:Servant. Which made me always think that while Tomcat and his Zondcat have to be deployed simultaneously, theu may do that in completely different entry zones...

If I were declaring a co-ordinated AD landing, the models all have to use the same table sector or template (this is actually in the AD descriptions). I'd say that sets enough precedent that another circumstance where both models are acting out the same order (even if not technically co-ordinated) would have to follow the same restriction.

Well, I can't agree with that - G:Servant is so completely different from Coordinated Order I wouldn't call it in as a precedent here.

However, I hope it will be clarified (along with a ton of other things) once N3 comes true...

Yes, in many ways Co-ordinated order and G:Servant are different.
However, the basic principle for both is still multiple models declaring and performing the same order, so unless given specific reason to think something works differently (for example, G: Synchronised is shown to not need to declare common targets for attacks), the safe assumption is that it works the same.

Who needs a precedent when it's right there in the rules? ;)

'Remotes with Ghost: Servant which possess the Airborne Deployment (AD) Special Skill can be deployed by spending 1 Order from the Order Reserve or, if the player prefers, by using the same Order through which its Doctor/ Engineer is deployed, without requiring the spending of an additional Order. In such a situation, they must be deployed at the same time and from the same side of the game table, or using the same Circular Template, as their Doctor/ Engineer.'

Hmm, mind you that just says 'same side' instead of 'same half of a side'.

The fun thing is though, you can also deploy them separately (by spending 2 orders) :)

And I thought for the list to start with one Tomcat on the board right away and the other one dropping when necessary. Still considering my options here.
