MO list for 300pt ITS

I am going to be going to a 300pt ITS tournament soon and wanted some feedback on a list. I have been playing little over a year and mainly against Caledonia. Last tourni I went to i got wiped out by Archilles.

So here's my planned list

What do you all think. The plan is to place the FO OS and sniper in TO deployment, and have the fusiliers in a link team providing support along with the dronebot. knight and magister advance and kill stuff along with the OS.

Any comments?

Okay, so, first off... I'm playing with the idea of opening a separate section of the forums for players that got raped by Achilles. Myself and Scorch will host the meetings, where we will cry and wrub our painful butts.

On the list itself: I think 8 orders is far too little for 300 pts. Not to mention you have 1 SWC left. Which would suggest you don't have enough dakka, which indeed seems to be the case: only your sniper rifle and the panzerfaust scare me. At least get a HMG or something in there.

Have you considered adding Konstantinos? He's got an MSV2 for dealing with ODD, and I think Infiltration(correct me if I'm wrong) and Specialist; a real steal, like most of the Dire Foes.

Yeah i was considering putting him in but I don't have a model to proxy for him.

With the comments about the orders, you are saying I need to have 10 orders in the first group, I can do this but I thought the model count, meaning I get a total of 12 orders would be better, is this not the case.

Make a link team with the Sergeants - ideally you'd have another, but you don't have 5 of them. They are your order base - you can deploy them defensively and snipe stuff with the sniper (duh).

The Crusader brings a surprise HMG to the table, deploy him behind your enemy to give him a heavy headache. The other two Knights take on the bigger nasties.

You'll have noticed there's a hacker in the link team. Besides hacking defensively (guided missiles and the like), they allow you to take Remotes. I've included 2 Bulleteers which I love - fast, ODD, fat guns. "But Arachas, I don't have those models!" Proxy them with your drone bots if your opponents don't mind. They are the flanking force and provided mobility to your force.

The doc is there to fill out points and another order. Keep him near the link team to keep their strength up, or bring him up with the Knights to reinforce their staying power.

I played a game using a very similar list (the magister knight was replaced with a crusader with boarding shotgun) list against a Caledonia army last night and it di rather well, apart from the link team of fusiliers got wiped out apart from the lieutenant by a duel chain rifle attach from McMorrough. they did manage to kill him in aro thought which was nice.

The Spec sergeant with the MSR really made his points back , he managed to kill a dozer, 2 */ 3rd highlander grey rifle, and an SAS before being taken out by a 2nd cameronian.

I think I will tweek this list slightly but it worked quite well.

Don't play panO but since no one else gave you a comment on the order thing I thought I'd add a little something. People talk about 10 being sort of the most efficient, since it's the most you can have in one group, by having everything together you don't get stuck in the position of running out of orders where you need them and having a bunch where you don't. there are builds that work without 10 but it's kind of the rule of thumb.

This being said 12 becomes a very awkward number of troops, only 2 less and you would have the "optimum" and even with say 14 you start to be able to form 2 effective groups, but with 12 you're stuck in either having a main group who has full or nearly full orders and then a small group with very little ability to get anything done. it can be easy to either bemoan those couple order in the "useless group" that could be getting you the last order you need to grab the objective, or to do whatever. Or you split more evenly and wind up with 2 groups who each feel just a little short of orders when they get into a pinch.

When working with multiple order groups you also need to keep in mind order budgeting. as you have the list written there's 3 fusiliers and a total reaction remote in one group. The total reaction is probably going to bunker down in one place most of the time and let someone else use his order and are the fusiliers really the best choice for their own orders? Sure they can sometimes pull out a big move but generally their order is better left available for a bigger gun. If you're going to do two order groups you need to plan out a bit more in terms of, who's going to give orders, who's going to take orders and who's the most likely to die and lose their order. trying to make groups that balance these factors can be tricky but it can lead to a better result.

Rumour has it that N3 will allow you to shift models from one combat group to the other at the beginning of your turn. That will make 12-order-lists a lot more attractive.

Hordshyrd, thanks for explaining that. it makes a lot of sense. my reasoning between the order split was that if i put all the models into one group the army is under priced and the other would only have two orders. I understand that the dronebot probably won't be using the orders, I was contemplating using one of the fusiliers with a HMG and getting B+1 would be a great bonus.

Hi, if I may chip in a bit... I'm not the most experienced person around, but I've been following all the guides on designing your list for ITS. One of the lessons I learned was the need to keep your list viable both on the offense as well as on the defense. Ability to deal with various threats is important, but you have to remember that in ITS it is more important to score objectives than it is to kill your opposition. With all that in mind, I started tinkering a bit with the MO armylists and here's what I came up with:

The mulebot can be swapped out for regular fusilier if you feel like it. The only thing this list really lacks is some really heavy firepower, but you can't have everything What it does have is the ability to position aggressively near the center of the board and control your opponent while your slower troops advance or specialists go after the objectives, giving your enemy a hard time in the beginning of the game.
