Bakunin advice

by tinfish » September 3rd, 2014, 11:12 pm

It's kinda two fold, I'm curious as to how I ought to take this to 400, and wondering if there are any tips on making do with this force.

Now I see there are problems, Impetious and Irregular being the cause of those, maybe that TAG is a bit much at this points level, especially when I have so few orders to spare.
The combat groups are layed out like that as I imagine the Mod and Doc won't do much, the Doc will hide till called upon and I'm not sure what use I'll have for the Moderator, she is there to make up points really.

The Moiras will run linked as it free's up orders to exercise controll over the Chimera and Pupniks and lets the TAG have a second order.

I'm just wondering how to controll these guys, any tips? What ought I be looking to achieve with these agressive nutters?

Now, one problem I have in expanding, even choosing the force in the first place is that I will not buy a model I don't like, even if it has the best statline in the game :) I can see weakness in this list however, mainly a lack of orders.
Winning matters not, fun however does, and I'll get bored at some point of having no controll over these folks :D But I'm really not sure where to go next with Bakunin, it's the one faction that has caused me some probems.

TAGs, Chimera and Morlocks all are order hungry.
IF you really want to bring 4 Morlocks, give them orders!
Get rid of the Moiras and shove a ton of Moderators into your combat groups and you will be fine.
For example something like this:

And why do you aim for 400? Planning to run ITS? If so, you need specialists. If not, it's your turn to bring whatever you want to; be it a link'o'five Moiras (including Kusanagi) or a Lizard with 5 Riot Grrls or.... well, just do it.

I'd like to play the odd 400 point game, other than that, if I have 400 points and play 300, then I don't always need to field the exact same 300 points.
Not looking to overload my collection with stuff solely for orders, but I could look at getting a few more moderators, I do like 2 or 3 of the models and have 1 spare at the moment. I could get up to 6 in there.

daktari is pretty pointless here tbh. all the stuff she'll want to heal is gonna be way up the board which means she'll be burning through orders she doesnt have to go heal dudes.
I agree with the other chap. you need vastly more orders. get moderators into the list and zondbots on the doc.
Also, you'll prbably need some more specs if going ITS

Hi tinfish,

I'd give serious consideration to swapping the Daktari for Avicenna as well. Costs a lot more, but is an amazing doctor!

Love your avatar btw ;)

Cheers,
Woo.

Sure, Avicenna is an awesome Doc, but the problem remains exactly the same.

It doesn't matter how awesome your doctor is if he'she si far away from those in need, and you have to burn thorough half of your Order stack to get the Doc there!

I'd say you also want to look at getting a couple Sin Eaters in here as well, for ARO use purposes.

I can just about stomach one of the sin eater models, so wouldn't mind throwing one in there.
The merc doctor I'll have at some point, I think I wanted her for Ariadna anyway, so she isn't a million miles away from being added.
Not a fan of the Spitfire Moderator, but it's not a poor cast so I'll likely add the moderators I don't have (I won't dupe minies so I won't be having 9 of them)
Consider the above list more of a starting point then the end game, I imagine as my collection grows I'll be dropping some Morloks for something less order intensive.
It seems Moiras don't get much love :)

I love the Moira figures - they are just overcosted in N2. I think they can be useful, though - I'm not as down on them as most people seem to be. As long as you are aware of where the visors are on the other side of the board, the ODD is a huge boon to use on the table.

Moiras are indeed overcosted compared to Human Sphere stuff - mainly, it's the Multi Rifle. N3 Moiras should be quite a bit cheaper.

I do like them, but they really are eclipsed in almost every role by everything else. They're the jack of all trades with a big Achilles heel. If you have them, I would rather go with Riot Grrls and a Custodier or two. The HMG Moira is good enough to take by herself but that's about it.
