E3 Profile-changes - what do you expect?

by Aikuchi » August 20th, 2014, 7:20 am

Greetings!
I'm quite new to Infinity and kind of in a pinch.
I've got a bunch of virgin-Corgies ( they've been living in Isocubes since birth, so yeah, it's possible even on Corregidor ) and a pal of mine gave me time till x-mas to base and prime them at least...or hand me a walloping.

With E3 looming, I wonder if it is still worth to assemble a Hellcat with HMG for example...I think it might be possible that they get the same treatment as the YuJing Tigers...swap HMG for a Spitfire.
Also rumor has it that the intruders ( I intended to convert with a HMG ) also get bereft of their HMG-Profile.

Mobile Brigada got a speedbuff...at least in OI...

So, what do you, more experienced CB customers, expect? ( since Bakunin got its own thread already I'm especially interested in your opinion regarding Corregidor-predictions.)

Well, Hellcat with HMG is, I guess, going to become a less popular choice (same with all other HMG-armed drop troops). I'd doubt that it'll get swapped for a spitfire - the Hellcat HMG is quite a recent model, in line with the current aesthetics, so I belive CB had a good glimpse of what was coming.

With the new shotgun rules, I expect to see the plain Rifle+Lt. Shotgun, as well as the Boarding Shotgun Hellcats on the table far more often!

Also, the Mobile Brigada got a point drop, a speed boost and I guess on pretty good money there will be a new profile (CombiRifle). Which is likely to come at similar cost to the Boarding Shotgun profile (unless there are some drastic changes in pricing formula - before, it was 34pts, I guess the point drop by 4pts in Icestorm was caused by reduction of MultiRifle cost), yet in my eyes more useful (range-wise) than the shotgun.
Having one shotgun in the Link is absolutely fine, having several (to keep costs down) is not.

As for the rest - we really don't know...

First, I'm going to assume you're talking about N3, not E3. :)

As for your question: I think N3 is going to be a few months. Hence, just start priming and painting the models you like. Especially if they're recent, you needn't worry.

I would hold off the converting, if you aren't sure about hmg intruder. No one is sure right now if it will make the jump to N3. Other than that, what Arachas said: recent sculpt, and buy what you like the look of.

If you suspect the Intruder is getting the Spitfire treatment, just buy the Prowler Spitfire and paint him up fire engine red (or whatever your scheme is). That way you have a working proxy if the change goes through and even if it doesn't you have a decent proxy for Bakunin stuff (for example Sin Eater spitfire doesn't have a model) as well as a straight Prowler model if it doesn't. Infinity and Infinity gamers are very easy on proxying. There are simply too many profiles to experiment with.

Honestly I would be suprised if the intruder loses his hmg. He is pretty damn slow so dropping to a spitfire would really hurt.

Isn't there a concept dossier of the Intruder around we can look up? :?

The profile change I am looking most forward too is Senor Massacre. That mini made me play Infinity and makes Corregidor my first love, but its a shame he is so lack luster. So far changes to Grenades and Shotguns will profit him, and CC looks like it might be worth it for him too do far. :toot:

Not a personal concern, but I hope they fix Moiras. Those girls really need a Suryat treatment, bad.

Forgive my ignorance, but what is the "Suryat treatment"?

The Suryat were pretty shitty before Paradiso, which updated there profile, skimmed of all the fat and now they are pretty usable, and even got cheaper units to link with on top of it. ;)

One thing I'm sure - the Moirat will retain their trademark ODD.
Also, since the models are pretty recent, I suppose they'll keep all the existing wepon / equipment profiles that are actually modelled.

And ODD is a royal pain in the ass! At least, unless you have some MSV L2 (or, in N3, at least L1, it will apparently help a bit).

I'm really interesed in what will be there for the Mobile Brigada though. I fielded a Pain Train (2 HMGs, 2 Shotguns, 1 Multi Lt) today, and they basically ruled the field untill a Cutter jumped them... Once the dust settled, one of my HMGs was still on his feet, but the rest of the team was out (as was the Cutter).
