neway, i've discarded the Su-Jian from the list and replaced him with a Hsien, also dropped the hacker and remote. whaddaya thunk?

my usual opponent will be allowing me to use his haqqislam stuff for the demo, and he's going to put together a list next week, which i will also post here and then you guys get to help me nitpick them to death

Do you know who you're demoing for? I typically stay to lower points and more like weapons to streamline the initial process (if they haven't played before).

so...100 pts? I intend to be demoing to people who havent played before. I chose 150 because it allows one to add some of the flavor units. I have everything on this list except the zhanshi HMG and Hsien.

My thoughts Demo = Ladies & Gents who have not played before nor looked into the game much.

So low points or no point lists are better! Example you take a Yu Jing basic 2 wound 4-2 movement HI like an Invincible with a Multi Rifle and then 3 × Zhanshis with Combi Rifles.

Your Haqqislam opponent takes a 2 wound 4-2 movement Jannisary with AP Rifle and 3 × Ghulam with Rifles & Light Shotguns.

Same points not exactly, same weapons no, does it show the game mechanics in full swing and that some factions have more advanced weapons yes!

BTW your original list is very similar to my Intro Yu Jing list.

Intro games are for people you have hooked with a demo or have done a little leg work of their own and understand the core D20 + ARO rules/ideas but want to have a game themselves before investing.

Demo's and intro's are slightly different in the later is time spent teaching when the former is time spent selling the game!

If you and your friend can sell the game to other gamers well you will see the benefit in numbers at your clubs/events and the like.

ok, so ive come up with 3 lists that will cost me minimal moolah (namely about $24-$30) and get me some necessary units. All end up around 75 points give or take.

add in my buddy's offer and i can run 2 demos at once! on one table even, assuming i go with 3 x 3 instead of 4 x 4, which, considering the army sizes and timing for the demo might be appropriate.

what do you guys think? 3x3 or 4x4?

3' by 3' will be fine for 4 models.

Why not just use the builds some the quickstart (booklet) for a demo game?
No complex rules, 4 units each. About 100 point armies
