N3: relevance of Campaign Paradiso & Human Sphere?

by CoxJul » September 17th, 2014, 1:19 pm

When earlier in the year CB announced the future release of N3 they stated that the CP and HS books would be 'compatible' with N3. I'm new to Infinity (awaiting my starter set) and wonder why I might need these other two volumes upon release of N3.

I realise this requires we make assumptions about what comes in the full N3 rules book. I'm assuming new stats for all existing factions/models (which will also be available via various online tools). I see from the N2 based Wiki that additional skills and associated rules were released in these two volumes but would expect these to be updated/consolidated in N3 rules.

So why might I need to buy the Campaign Paradiso and Human Sphere books apart from fluff and playable scenarios?

If those two things (fluff + scenarios) don't trigger you, than I can't find another reason. :P The rest is rules, and those are free to download.

Thanks Scorch - means they're 'nice to have' rather than 'must have' at this stage of beginning my Infinity hobby.

As owner of both, I'd say yes. It's a cool book, with awesome fluff and details. You can read up on fluff over at the blog section of Data Sphere, if that's your thing. It isn't as deep as the books though.

But with N3 coming and all the rumours of Human Sphere 3rd edition, I am not sure what we can expect now.

As owner of the books, I do recommend buying them if we know more solid facts. They are extremely nice for the price and the fiction and art are great!
