Ok, so this is me

Greetings all, this is me introducing myself. I grew up playing RPG's, but running combat with minis, and playing the old FASA Battletech game. As I grew older, I moved more and more to video games, until I wasn't doing much tabletop at all. Fast forward quite a few years, and I started missing the social aspect (or at least having a social aspect that doesn't involve twelve year olds screaming at me about what they did to my mother last night), and started back in through board games, then back into minis with X-Wing. Added Dreadball to my lineup of miniature games, which also got me back into painting. I started watching various youtube wargaming channels and became absolutely fascinated by a game called Infinity (you might know this game, it's pretty good) and particularly the Nomads faction. Watched every batrep I could, subrscribed to every podcast I could find in english, and drooled over it for almost a year, but I didn't know anybody around who played, so I didn't pull the trigger on purchasing anything. Then, Operation:Icestorm was announced. Preordered that, figuring I could outfit 2 people fairly easily and get the community going myself (still finding time to assemble and paint, but Op:Ice has been snatched up by others out here, so the community is starting on its own) Bought the recommended additions to the Op:Ice teams to go to 300 points, then Miniature Market had their Black Friday sale and, well..... mistakes were made. So now I'm outfitted pretty well for Nomads and Pan-O, but after reading the N3 core book, I'm kinda wanting to branch into JSA, and Ariadna...... this decision was bad for my wallet, I think. I do also still enjoy X-Wing, Dreadball, and board games, but Infinity definitely scratches my itch for deep tactical gaming. And yes, this is a copy paste of my intro on the official CB Infinity forums lol

Welcome to Data-Sphere and Infinity! It's a great game and you'll enjoy your time here, I have no doubt.

Whereabouts are you located? Glad to hear your area is picking up!

I'm in Winchester, VA, out in the mountains. Fortunately, this puts me within driving distance of a decent number of larger areas for tourneys (Baltimore, DC. etc)
