YADM - Yet Another Dutch Member

Hi all,

I'm just starting with Infinity - wargaming has been my hobby for longer though. I was particularly drawn to the skirmish setting, where each unit is important, and the visceral action feel of the reaction system. Also, I'm a terribly slow painter - so fewer miniatures is a big plus!

I'm having a go at Haqq, but I might also expand on the Nomads after my copy of O:I comes in.

So yeah...that.

Sounds cool. What other war games do/have you played?

Welcome to data-sphere!

I started out with Spacehulk (1996 ed.), moving into WH 40K. Battlefleet Gothic when it came out, and even a bit of WH Fantasy.
Then I got a bit fed up with some of the directions the games were going in, and moved to Dystopian Wars - which I still enjoy.
I somehow ran into Infinity on the web recently, and got hooked.

I used to play 40k, as well. Same as you, didn't much like where the game was headed and got out of it. I still have miniatures, but I doubt I'd ever get back into it.

I play a Spartan Games game as well, though it's Firestorm Armada. Same rules with some very small changes in fluff and names, from what I've been told.

Hello fellow Dutchy! Where are you located? We're having a demo at Utrecht next Saturday!

@Claudius: Same here. I particularly enjoyed the times of Cityfight, strike team (I believe that's what it was called) and the likes.
I know of Firestorm Armada, however I simply couldn't resist the amount of units available per euro in Dystopian Wars. Also, the different unit theaters mixing is fun (air, land, water).

@Scorch: The Hague area. I read about the demo, but I'm not sure I can make it - busy weekends at the moment.

No problemo! :) The Dutch thread is growing so I guess people will arrange between each other to get some more games in! Welcome to the gang! ;)
