some people may like to listen to music when playing a game (especially if you are having a private game and don't have to worry about disturbing others), or painting.
Anyways, the point is I used to play a mod called neotokyo, which was a blast and based on GitS. Its dead now, but its soundtrack live on!
http://www.moddb.com/mods/neotokyo/downloads/full-soundtrack-mp3A preview, if you would like to not just take my word on the quality of the soundtrack:

ModDB said no mirrors.
But searching for the filename gave
http://www.desura.com/mods/neotokyo/dow ... dtrack-mp3 where one mirror was open.
Thanks, waiting for it to finish.

I have found
http://machinaesupremacy.com/ to be quite fitting for Infinity, but that's a personal taste.

What kind of game do you play then, C3gorach?

This may seem odd but I often listen to apocoliptica when playing infinity. the lack of lyrics makes it less distracting and 4 cellos belting out heavy metal seems to work for me while playing. Kinda weird im sure but hey if it works.

I would have to say The Mars Volta, Deloused in the Crematorium has been in the background quite a bit lately as well.

What kind of Infinity do you play that Machinae Supremacy fits in? I love MS, but it's quite far from the Infinity atmosphere.

We mostly play "annihilation" games. As i said MS is a personal taste, i listen them only myself with earphones.

Ah it has to be ambient electronica - the likes of Orbital, Leftfield,The Orb, William Orbit .. basically anything with the word orb in it

I've been listening to a number of the old Bubble Gum Crisis AVAs of late too. Hurricane was a great band. But IMO Requiem for a Tower by Escala capture the majesty and the urgency of Infinity.

Well Two Steps from Hell, E.S Posthumus, X-Ray Dog, Immediate Music have some great "epic" songs for ambient sound while playing Infinity also.

I don't tend to listen to any music whilst playing or modelling. Either I'm concentrating on doing what I'm doing and I can't hear it anyway - or I'm listening and NOT doing what I am supposed to be doing.
The Tron Legacy s/t is good driving music though. And the only DP cd I won't use as a frisbee (ironically) - I don't like a lot of their other stuff.

BG Crisis 2040 also has some kickass tunes. Very Nomad.

This, however, redeems you in my eyes.

Usually none when gaming, me and the other local have a different of opinion on what is "music". When modelling it's usually Lacuna Coil, In this Moment, or The Agonist lately.

I'd rather listen to the Ghost in the Shell soundtrack.

^ This. Whenever I try and find a theme track or album for my 40k armies I always end up with that specific album. At least with Dark Eldar and Tau :-).

I just realized that Tool's 10,000 Days Wings pt2 makes perfect background music for an Infinity game.

Since I have a habit of brining my nano with me to games; I have a wide variety I listen to that ranges from silly(Weird Al, virus alert comes on when one of my HI is hacked :p ), to dramatic(Escaflowne, GiTS, Macross, Advent Children soundtracks to name a few), to various stages of metal(Metallica, Within Temptation, etc), to my core music group of Sting, Phil Collins, Seal, and Peter Gabriel. I usually just have all my songs on random so the music gets to be rather 'eclectic' during a match, but on occasion might bring up a single album or artist list if it feels like a match warrants it.

Well, I have a really mixed bag of stuff on my iPod. Kinda surprised it hasn't blown up yet, with Beethoven and Godsmack side by side in the same playlists...

That's nothing, my phone has Mozart, The Agonist, The Cardigans, Daft Punk, and many other things...
