Which miniatures have been digitally designed???

Hey guys,

With the new method that CB are using to design their miniatures, does anyone have a list of which miniatures have been designed using the new method? I only ask because there is a scale creep which has been generated by it (not that this will be an issue with N3 due to the silhouette system) and i'm a little ocd like that!

Cheers!

That not only they changed general size, but also things from sex to sex. PanO Bolt females have smaller weapons than males, also some Morats... it was discussed recently.

If your OCD can "let it slide" then you don't HAVE OCD. :D

Otherwise, learn to leash that sucker a little tighter.

OCD my ass, CDO! Put the letters in order like they should be, you people make me crazy. Excuse me while I go wash my hands three times and make sure that none of my grass is growing faster that the rest. Damn it! My wife put the coffee mugs away backwards. This is going to be a rough day.

CB has only really recently been digitally sculpting.

The first model to receive the digital treatment was the O-Yoroi Kidobutai.

During that time, digital sculpts were few and far between, usually for TAGs or some heavy infantry, I believe.

I don't think there's a comprehensive list anywhere, though.

Somewhere I have a picture of two of my Inquisitor models alongside each other (although I can't immediately find it on my fotobukkit); One of them is 49mm tall and the other 62mm tall, which is completely deliberate (I know, I sculpted both of them). It represents a range of heights between about 150cm (4' 11") and 190cm (6' 3"), which is actually pretty tame as far as human height varies.

Scale variation is over-stated; you can have quite large differences and still be completely accurate to real life - the only real problem that exists is if you're trying to swap parts for a conversion.

Gun size annoys me way more than height differences do. Guns tend to be uniform for the most part people do not.

Yup. Case in point:

Exactly, which is what annoys me so much about the Celestial Guard hacker and the rescaling of the weapons in general...

Human Sphere has incredibly sophisticated 3D printing. Guns are produced on spec for your exact body dimensions and dynamics.

(this is bullshit but it's fun bullshit)

It's less bullshit than you think!

If the barrel and magazine stayed the same, I'd actually be OK with that. It's kinda like the difference between the M16 and M4, or that "Zombie-killer" stock created for the Ruger 10/22 (3d printed and installed on the weapon).

Because being able to share ammo and magazines is more important than individual ergonomics, and you can do a crazy amount of tuning to the bog-standard military rifle to get it to fit YOU perfectly.

I saw Section9 coming, klicks away, without any Visor. He forgot to mention how militar devices have no keys or customizations, unless really really needed. Last "news" were about proposals to have "digital locks" in military things, to avoid "bad" uses (you know, supply to some guys because they fit your needs "now", make the things useless "later"). And the reason to not go down that path is the same than for the keys, under fire you want to be able to quickly pick whatever you have near and use it, instead of enjoying uncompatibilities or remote shutdowns.

Meanwhile, we could collect sources of renders, to build the list ... like this guy that also contributed to Last Saga. And based in observation, the CSU is the VIP Executive from Dire Foes, reposed.

Hey there guys,
Sorry for threadomancy, but I felt that my question would fit here, so I didn't see an absolute need of opening a new thread.
My question is:
The minis in the IceStorm Box, and other recently released minis like the new Morats or KumBiker (well, not a good comparison I feel, but I hope you get my point) are really beefed-up, compared to older models.
To wich (youngest) minis the difference would be really visible?
For example:Placing the FatherKnight next to the SantiagoKnights, it would look kinda odd? To wich other minis would it fit better? Wich other minis have been beefed-up?
I mean, maybe it's just my spleen, but after all, I am right now starting my Infinity Collection, and I love this beefed-up design!
I hope you get my point (my main point, not the thing with me being obviously
craaaazy :D )

Greetz
Seasick

Edit: yay, first post :toot:

Welcome to the forums, Seasick! If you'd like, you should post an introduction post in the Introductions section.

To answer your question, most models don't look out of place when next to the Icestorm models. Only the models that already looked odd to the current set (ie, the very earliest models) look noticeably different. The Icestorm models, while tall, aren't out of the normal range of height variation.

it's still funny to see a Bao troop towering over a Zhanshi (which also kind of makes sense as they are meant to be bad news!)

Actually, the electronic safety keys are present. They've just been properly set up (read: intentionally destroyed) so that the gun always goes BANG!

The loudest sound in the world is the gun that goes "click" when you were expecting it to go "BANG"...

Reminds of a scene in Gundam Unicorn (Episode 3, I believe), where the main suit attempts to use a pair of Gatling beam guns but finds his button push does nothing. The pilot looks to the information panel and sees the much dreaded "Loading drivers...18%" message!

Which should have resulted in the pilot's pucker factor exceeding 9000! :ubergeek:
