First Few games last week

Hi,

TL;DR- lots of fun was had. I died, they died. looking forward to tourney sand maor games!
I'm not a regular poster on any forums, so my literary may make this hard to read.

I have been a long time Lurker, with Icestorm coming a lot of us have come out to play in my local area, and I have finally been able to get a game with some ppl in my area.

Years ago I was introduced by a friend. I bought a Pan O starter, Cutter and swiss Guard with ML. I had no idea what they did, they just looked cool.

painted them and didn't play until last week.

I have spent the last few months reading forums, bogs, the wiki and watching Mini wargamer Bat reps. after my couple of games I have found I have a pretty good grasp of the rules. One really good resource was the Mayanet app, it had integrated links to the wiki. This made it so much easier to start somewhere, make a list with what you have or want then go through the troops and read the wiki on the equipment, skills or weapons they have. I found it a lot more digestable as I learned what I ha and what it could do.

First off was at my FLGS with an experienced player I have seen around the forums.
we had a basic 150pt scenario intro game. He brought Nomads. I had a Crocman with TO in my list, I chose to deploy him as a marker as I wasn't confident with how the TO actually worked.
with both had one point as we both had opened a crate. I spent most of the game picking of his link team in cover, they were keeping line of fire with a crate for me to open, so they had to go.
It was the last turn, I was active. I had my Lt and a Fusilier left, he had an AD troop with HMG behind me left. The Fusilier was closest to the crate with two orders left for him. he needed to jump from the top a building to get close and have an order to open the crate.
He succeeds the jump rolls the crate all like " I've got this in the bag!" only to fail his WIP roll and be left standing there staring at the crate going" well fiddlesticks". The Lt uses his order to round the corner and take a pot shot at the last enemy, and cleans up the table.
we didn't use LoLt and no guts rolls, but most things didn't pass armour rolls anyway.

On the weekend was a club meet and I'd arranged to meet a local player for a game. He'd been there before show casing infinity with a basic game or two for a few blokes. He'd left it up to me if we'd have another 150pt basic game or a 200 point "all the goodies "game.
I was feeling confident and so decided a 200pt goodies game.
He brought a camo heavy ariadna force, I brought;
Stephen Rao - Combi Rifle
Bagh-Mari Lieutenant Cost: 22

Kamau - Hacker
Amphibious Intervention Teams
LI - Line Troops Cost: 28

Auxilia - Auxbot 1
LI - Garrison Troop Cost: 14

Croc Men - Boarding Shotgun
SK - Specially Trained Cost: 29

Swiss Guard - Missile Launcher
HI - Headquarters Troops Cost: 74, Swc: 2

Fusiliers - Combi Rifle
LI - Line Troops Cost: 10,

Fusiliers - Combi Rifle
LI - Line Troops Cost: 10,

Fusiliers - Combi Rifle
LI - Line Troops Cost: 10,
I had deployed my TO troops again as markers. I may miss details of this so it might be jumpy or I don't remember the specifics.

First game he had first turn. His SAS infiltrator pretty much deployed right in front of my center line. came around the corner chain rifled 2-3 fusiliers to death, then proceeded to Assault Pistol old mate Steven into the dirt. I was at loss of Lt and he finished off the nearby hacker before re comoing with a self pat on the back.
basically when it got to my turn I had an auxilia at my flank and a croc man nearby to the SAS trooper. I was left with 2 orders and was told I could either use the two orders to assign a new Lt or use the 2 orders to do something. However I was in retreat so each turn I would be impetuous toward the rear table. since I was in my DZ still I wasn't inclined to have the croc man and auxilia play paper/rock/scissors for Lt over comms.
I manoeuvred the Crocman, and tried to discover the SAS trooper. failed and so I hunkered down behind a prius.

His next turn was pretty much the SAS guy approaching and firing at the crocman firing blindly from behind the Prius " I envisioned at this point 2 highly trained professionals having their own private fire fight over the cover of an abandoned Pruis in the street". until eventually the SAS guy moves in for the CC Kill only to have 2 shotgun rounds to the chest after stabbing his blade into the crocmans neck.
That was pretty much GG there.

We swapped sides and had a second game. This time I deployed My TO troops as they should. My opponent recommended taking a photo of the troop positions for clarification during play. He went and got a coffee whilst I deployed and took photos.
I went first. He had deployed a suspected mine almost right next to my TO Croc, so I moved my auxilia up into cover and sent the bot around the corner to kill what ever it was. It was a mine that destroyed the bot but was destroyed by the bot too. I shuffled a few other Fusiliers up the board, tried to discover a camo marker to fail. I had deployed old mate steven rao behind a wall to fiddle with his assault pistol and generally do a better job of not dying. He was virtually pinned since another suspected mine was deployed in such a fashion as to prevent him from moving.

My opponent was pretty put off by the hidden Swiss Guard and Croc. I can imagine it would be a frightening position to be in. From now on TO will always be deployed hidden.
In his turn a troop revealed to take out my hacker, it died. however the SG dropped TO and blew that guy apart!. Another troop moved to have a go at the SG, BOOM! in you facial! another missile blows that guy and a mine apart. A tank hunter takes a shot at the SG. *Tink* armour/cover saves the SG but he lies prone failing his WIP. " what a pansy".
With the SG essentially gone for this turn, he moves another guy to kill the auxilia. he revels and fails to hit the auxila hiding under a car, he doesn't notice the croc man drop TO. He feels the boarding shot gun at the back of his skull, then nothing else though.

other side of the board another guy drops his camo takes out a fusilier only to be taken out by another in ARO with a 3 Crit!. Woot!, that chick is getting a name fo sure!.
Anyway it ends up with him having 4 cheerleaders in the back field hiding in a nice line under a bridge listening to the carnage over comms. along comes my Croc pops out of TO to blap the lot of them with 2 shots from his trusty Boarding shot gun, they all die. He has one guy left in retreat, last man standing its the SAS guy again. makes his way over to my croc man, points his assault pistol at him and delivers a clever throwaway cliche line, then unleashes hell. The croc man goes down with a tingly sense of Deja vue.

Over all had lots of fun! thanked my opponent, and now am looking to buy more goodies to build many and various lists.! I Love this game!

If you made it this far, thanks for reading.
