Greetings human sphere.
The e i requires two things of you.

Firstly
For demo games what are the best formats, points values and specs to run? I have large combined army and smaller jsa force.

Secondly with regards to hobby onboarding (read recruitment)
What do you feel should be emphasised to new players?

A bonus question
I want to make a great looking futuristic space port table.
What are your suggestions?
This would be a table emplacement- so think like the tables you saw at gencon recently.

My thanks
K

Reduced number, 3-4 line soldiers with no or minimal extra rules. You want people to understand turns, basic actions, ARO. Get Operation Icestorm? Others have posted example lists that follow that concept.

The need of just a small group of miniatures but that they can do lots of things (video game more than classic wargame... demo with a door that needs opening), and that both players are involved all the time. And that balance is pretty good. Miniature quality should be obvious.

Spaceships  , Spartan Games has one that looks great. Converted toys are also good. Then you need some buildings for offices and hangars, some support vehicles and lots of cargo as filler. A printed grey mat, or MDF plank (with some engraving and paint to make a multi part concrete or metal surface with stencils), of the proper size as base.

You could even play with different levels, making land zones raised ("hills") or lowered (the top part of the ships will be the "hills", and the holes take care of the LoFs under the ships), or offices at higher ground in one side (you can play high DZ vs low DZ, or with each DZ having both levels). I would not glue things, so they can be shifted around to go from simple demo, by using a smaller area, to full game.

Thanks guys, excellent stuff so far. Op Icestorm availability starts mid to late Sept here in Canada so i must wait, but this is for like next week.

My plan is for the spaceport table to be as high quality as possible so its gonna be a several month affair.
Itl likely be based on paradiso and im currently thinking of color scheme.
Did anyone see the light tan/cream akira esque diorama with cables running through it? Basically that. Lots of that.
(Looks like a space ship interior or tech facility?)

If you preorder, you get an extra miniature. Shops should be able to take preorders with this extra.

Avaliability is the same everywhere, except the sales at some tournaments or expos.
