I wanted a mission. A real choice mission.

Everyone gets everything he wants. I wanted a mission, and for my sins, they gave me one. Brought it up to me like room service. It was a real choice mission, and when it was over, I never wanted another.

HAI

Getting back to Infinity after a long hiatus. I've got most of my bases covered with one glaring exception - missions.

There's Dire Foe missions, ITS and Campaign Paradiso. There's YAMS and probably a handfull that I don't even know about.

Where do I begin? Here in beautiful Sweden, Landskrona we're taking some babysteps towards building a community. I am looking for some simple but hopefully official missions we can play as we learn the rules. Preferably nothing to complicated but with enough teeth to give us a glimpse of the real deal.

I've got YAMS printed and downloaded and they seem workable but like I said I prefer something official as a starting point.

I don't want to invest in the Paradiso book until I know I've got a stable group.

I hear a lot about ITS missions. Where do I find them? How beginner friendly are they?

How does the Dire Foe missions fit into all this?

I need a stat rep people!

ITS scenarios are here, from the official site: http://www.infinitythegame.com/infinity ... 202014.pdf

There are a few more scenarios on the downloads section too.

To be honest, if you are just starting out, go With YAMS.

The official missions (especially the ITS and Paradiso missions) require a special set if miniatures, specially tailored lists and are very though to play when you are still struggling with the basics/have lots of new players who do so.

Paradiso is a special kind of beast as they are designed more from a story telling point of view so some of them a quite hard/strange/difficult/super fun.

YAMS on the other hand is playable from 10 points to 300+, easy to understand, easy to play, you can take whatever you want without settling for specialists or specific list building strategies and you can modifie them to suit your meta.

They might not be officially, but the are as close as possible without a having that god damn "Designed for Inifnity" / "Made by CB" sticker. They wouldn´t be here if they weren´t so good... and they have been here for a long time allready.

The dire foes Missions are somewhere inbetween there, not as "random" and easy as YAMS, not as hard as most of paradiso/ITS.

But since you could only get them officially through buying the packs you might want to step away from them in the beginning (or look through the net to find them as inofficial downloads ... just sayin´ :ninja: )

I second Ursun's call for YAMS if you want to get back in.
Replay value is nice as any model can achieve every objective and the individual missions are randomly picked.

Ok guys, looks like we'll go with YAMS for starters.

I'll check out the link for the official missions once we've got our feet wet.

Thanks for the help!
