Help me with assembling new armies please!

Hallo

I am new NEW guy. I played a few games of infinity. I love the game. I just start to grasp the rules. I have zero experience with picking up forces. I would love you to give me some advice (or full 300 point armies please) as to what to pick for games with a friend , keeping in mind 2 things:

1.) forces composition
- i have operation icestorm and i am also getting Red Veil. As for now i bought Gekos for nomads (love the looks!)
- i love the TAGs and mechs in general. I just have to have them in my armies instead zillions of smaller "useful" models.

2.) a friend of mine
.... is an insane nasty mastermind playing with 100% invisible ariadna army, there is also a possibility he deploys his new haqqislam force with Maghariba Guard. But first and foremost he is an invisible Ariadna player laying fvckin mines everywhere and spewing rockets and fire from invisible guys hiding behind corners.

3. what i need. Lets get 2 armies rolling for starters.
- Advice for NOMADS. I have icestorm , i have Gekos, i read that "Intruder HMG" is an absolute MUST HAVE. Can i somehow make it work against the invisible army?


-Advice for ALEPH. love Ghost in the Shell so i love Aleph.

Well first off, welcome to the game. Second the only reliable ways to deal with Camouflaged models is with either sniffers/sensors and MSV (Multi-spectral visor). You can't really get that on a TAG so as per usual with TAGs you need support. For Nomads, Armand le Muet, Grenzers, and Riot Grrls all have MSV1 which is sufficient for most regular camo, but if you want MSV2 then there is the Intruders and the aforementioned Intruder with HMG. Something to consider though is that you're really new too the game, so this many factions this quickly might be a lot to process. You might want to pick one out of the group, stick with it for awhile, get to know the game, then move on to one of the others you like. Nomad or Pan-O have a good prevalence of TAGs and MSV so you get the stuff you want, and the stuff you need for your current issues. Also, look into the Geckos and other mini-TAGs as these are a good way to bridge the gap between HI and full TAGs and act as a good learner model before you move on to the the big boys.

Thanks for anwering. You are saying TAGs are a dead weight against invisible Ariadna army?

i got 3 questions:

1.Nomads Composition
If i buy a few Intruders with HMGs (snipers are not advised, right?) and Armand le Muet, Grenzers i will be fine?
I don't like how the Riot Grrls models look like so i will pass on them.

2. What are the "required support models" for TAG

3. and building on this question: Can you please gimmie the 300 points force for Marut? i know you said TAGs are not advisable for new players, (aint that funny TAGS are the 1st thing Corvus Belli proposes to new players ;) but i would like to try a brutal romp with one of the most powerful TAGS in game. What would be a good support force to go with a Marut TAG?

I'm not saying they're dead weight, I'm saying that there isn't a way to make them by themselves amazing against hidden units. You need too reveal the units first.

1. You don't need that many MSV models, two, maybe three tops. You also don't need that many high cost HMG models. Riot Grrls may not look that good, but they are a decent model, but you can always proxy them in non-official games.

2. Well you want an engineer to keep it repaired, some cheap LI to generate extra orders for it, and maybe some smoke depending on the faction. I also like to have some drop infantry so that if it gets a little isolated you can put something down too secure its flanks on the fly.

3. I don't really know that much about ALEPH. They're interesting but I can't really make a list for you. I guess same basic rules for list building applies, but I'm not 100% sure on the validity of any of the units. The only ALEPH unit I know much about is Devas because of NCA.

I started out playing Nomads against Ariadna and if your friend is not new to the game it will be a challenge to win. Then again it is a great way to learn the subtleties of the game.

I'm also going to agree with ARCangel when he says TAGs need support. The Iguana can be very good but it is also easy to destroy. My advice is to keep it in cover all the time (Ariadna as a lot of AP weapons and that armor 6 suffers the most from it), don't let your enemy get close and put it on suppression fire if you can. This should help. Also watch out for the tankhunter (camo+infiltrate and B2 EXP weapon). TAGs aren't deadweight but they won't win you a game by themselves.

Engineers and hackers (especialy since the Iguana is a repeater) will help get the most out of it.

The Intruder with HMG is a favorite because of the high rate of fire. The sniper could also do work but the HMG is a better weapon when your beginning the game. Even with those models it won't garanty you a win but MSV's will make your life a little easier.

Ironically, Ariadna struggles against camo since they have very limited access to MSV. A spekter or some Zeros can help you remove annoying models more easily. Just watch out for the flamers.

Also, if you take an intruder try and get a model with smoke grenades near it. Ariadna does not have access to MSV2 so they can't shoot you trough the smoke and this will give you a good advantage.

cool thanks! I am so totally into these advices. Prepping models to buy ;) Now i know what drives the infinity miniatures sales. Outrage after loosing a game ;D

what about smoke units? Its an option which can be attached to troops?

Smokes are usually found on cheap warbands, like Morlocks and Jaguars.

Sorry for going easy mode here, but i would be thankful for some instant recipe Aleph army including Marut and lots of Ghost in the Shell like looking models (i realise after this description most pro infinity players will go away to tear their hair out).
What i want right now as a new player is a one click instant order from the website.
