General Army Units

I recently picked up some Rezolution CSO models from a local game store that was clearancing old stock.

I got about 10 for maybe 7 bucks.
I was thinking about painting them up as regular army units in Infinity, since the models we play with are less the normal army, and more the special forces on specific missions. Or so I understand.

So, I suppose my question is, what would a normal recruit/ enlistee from the big factions look like.
The models I have would fit best with a PanOceania force, so would a PanOceanian enlistee look more or less like a Fusilier?
The same goes for the other factions that would have a more general army.

It's my understanding that Infinity isn't so much "Send in SEAL Team 6" as "There's an urgent operation [location]. Your objectives are [whatever]. Grab who and whatever's handy and make it happen."

Long story short(er), Fusiliers are the basic PanO Army grunt.

Yep. Basically, every Infinity model is drawn from a regiment within their nation's army. So, yes, the fusiliers are the basic PanO army grunt. The logic behind link teams - and the reason why they must all come from the same "unit" profile - is that they do represent "Team Six" or whatever.

So, for example...

• One wildcat in my Nomads force is just a wildcat. Wildcats are basically the SWAT teams of Corregidor, and obviously when the mission was given to the lieutenant, there was a wildcat he knew he could count on who he got assigned to this mission.

• A fireteam of three to five wildcats might very well be a squad of wildcats who work together in their typical role as part of Corregidor's army, but they can only operate this efficiently with support from a team that understands their tactics (ie. a Corregidor sectorial force).

That makes sense.
It's less that the units we see in the game are dedicated special ops, but units taken from the regular army to achieve special objectives.

Depending on which faction you play, these guys could make a pretty good police or SWAT team, though. You couldn't do that if you play Nomads, because it's clear that the moderators/securitate/alguaciles are all semi-militarized police units who take on both law enforcement and military roles. However, for some of the other factions, there seems to be a clearer division between police and military. If I recall correctly, there's no mention in the Haqqislam, Yu Jing, or (most importantly for you) PanO background about any of the playable units being militarized police.

tl;dr version - why don't you use them as PanO cops? They'd make good civilians for missions that require them.

You could even use them to cook up some special scenarios involving armed and trained models that aren't under either players' control, or weak armed models that follow one player's orders as a balancing factor in an asymmetrical scenario.
