April Releases

Just saw a BoW preview for the April releases and they all seem to be civvie looking models with a theme of diplomats and functionaries. I'm wondering what people's thoughts are on their form and function. Are you excited for your factions release? I like the look of the corporate guy from Pan-o but I have no clue what he is going to do for me on the field.

Ah, you didn't followed this month's hype on releases?
What you've mentioned are March releases (which will hit the shelves in April, as usual).
Save for Kanren (YJ special unit) and - supposedly - one of the Ariadnan's Yevgeny Voronin's profiles (indended, the word is, to be a Special Character available for Ariadna), the rest are civilians intended for use as HVTs - High Value Targets. Securing a HVT is one of the secondary objectives possible in the ITS (official Infinity tournament System), and so far there were no faction-specific HVT models (save for Tohaa Diplomatic Delegate).
Not to menition the fans were pestering the CB for civillian models for years...

I'm getting all of them accept the Tohaa and Yevgeny. Expensive month!
Its good to have civilians for RPG games and Non-ITS home made missions.
One mission we did a few years back had «infected» hostile civvies. They could do a CC BS10 attack, 13 dmg BTS.
ZomVies! see what I did!

Really? Hm I guess I didn't follow closely enough. I think I'll pick up that Nomad and the Pan-o one, they look awesome.

Suit yourselves, gentlemen. For me, these models are very far on the "to buy" list, so far I'm not entirely sure they are there at all...

I'm looking at them like this. A. We play YAMS and some variation of the "civvie" would be nice on occasion. B. We want to play 20x20 and that requires more civvies so this could help that. C. Finally, they look nice and just like the bootleg models, they make a good model to use for painting experiments that avoid ruining consistency of quality throughout a collection.

Ow, got me right in the wallet! (Like I need any more unpainted civvies...)

Well, it would have been the way for me, too, except for the fact I had to face with exactly the same problem years ago, when there were no Infinity civvies around. Think post-HS, pre-Paradiso era. So I solved it with a mix of Hasslefree and Reaper models, later augmented by some CB's Dire Foes civvies.
These CB civvies simply came too late to be of practical use for me... and their aesthetic merit is not high enough to place them ahead of actual fieldable models for me
(and despite me collecting / playing Infintiy for quite a while now and mostly restraining myself to the mdoels I field in one of my three Sectorials, there's still quite a line of models to be bought and painted. And I guess the HS N3 ain't going to make it actually shorter...).

I'm in the same boat as Errhile, really. I've been playing for 8 years or so.
I already have a pile of civvie models (some are even CB ones) so I'm sorted for even ITS play should I ever return to its clutches (haven't played an ITS in 3 years and am happy with nought but club play for me.) and since I had no interest in the rpg (already been there and done cyberpunk and transhuman rpg stuff, don't need to ride that rodeo again), this month's releases were pretty much a meh for me.
I'm still catching up on previous month releases (I restrict myself to $50 a month - when there are no models released that month, I invest in terrain instead) - I still need to get those brigada and Domaru Butai boxes - both of which are purchases ranked far higher up the list than this month's releases.
I know it's not the same for the new guys, many of whom only got on this wagon in the last year or so, and they are welcome to like them. I just can't.

I've been playing for 4 years and I only play Imperial Service. The rate of their releases has been anemic in the last 2 years. Having two months in a row with IS compatible models is like Christmas!
I didn't get into Dire Foes when it came out. Didn't like the fact we had to buy several boxes to get the full set of civvies - and IS didn't get a mode while Japanese got one! I simply kept using my Star Wars Hoth Rebel mini as a HVT until the official HVT came out. I have Gogo Marlene somewhere but I find the model too silly looking for a wargame so it never got assembled. But for a RPG game she would be great!
This new series of Civvies is great because you can use them in ANY cyberpunk/sci-fi rpg game. Doesn't have to be INFINITY. Great additions to my RPG model range.

I also have a lot of civvie models already, mostly Antenociti's (OOP now, uncertain ETA for return to production), Hasslefree, Anima Tactics, and Relic Knights.
There is no such thing as too many civilians. My dream is to have a whole cityscape with Tokyo population density.

That would make an awesome table. Sooner begun is sooner done... just sayin'
I'll get the Haqq civvie-- and paint that box she is holding as a
Weighted Companion Cube . I have the corporate civvie from the Dire Foes (Yasbir-Konstantinos) which works fine with my ASA. That'll cover the 2 factions I play ( well, really 1 faction and 1 sectorial.)

Oh, I already have a good 40 or 50 civilians (got 36 in one foam tray, and more not in foam). Need more. Need probably another 50 or so, and that still won't get close to Tokyo crush hour mobs. But pretty close to college at change of classes.

Very pleased with those releases.
For Infinity RPG, and for ANY modern/cyber/space RPG nothing of such quality has ever surfaced before in the 28 mm miniatures market. Also, for ITS players, they make official and beautiful HTV.

Honestly, it's the Bolts that I've no clue what they are going to do for me on the field...
