- civilian box
- objectives box (25mm ones - crates, flags, deployable technical mcguffins) - or just put 2 civilians in here and sell it together
- artbook (especially in the style of the first books)
- databook ( like the Appleseed one - lots of technical drawings, visual weapon comparison, cutaways "how a TAG works", more fluff bits on the (still) Human Sphere, etc. etc.

I came here to post a databook, I'd love a universe technical manual with all the weapons, more in-depth info on corporations, light vehicles, etc.

Yes I don't think his writing is the best in the world (although certainly there is nothing wrong with it!) - but in the same way as someone like Dan Brown, who also gets stick for his supposed lack of literary talent, I quite often find I'll pick up one of his books on a Friday and then lose the weekend finishing it! They are often extremely compulsive page turners.. :)

As such I'd love him to have a go at something in the Infinity universe. You could read his non-Black library book 'Embedded', which arguably isn't a million miles away with its near future, more realistic conception of the future, for some idea of what that might be like. Although to be fair, I would settle for reading any bit of Infinity fiction that was written by someone with English as a first language.. as good as the translations are in the rule books.

And since you don't need Magic you have a lot easier time building a system. I think a system similar to the Chronicle System from the A Song of Ice & Fire RPG would work perfectly. And I just got Deja Vu...

My Gaming Group has developed a RPG-Esque System similar to Infinity's Model Stats. Though it is more towards Mecha than Infinity's Normal... And aimed more towards a Beer-&-Pretzel Campaign Role-Playing Wargame... It wouldn't take to much effort to modify it into an RPG...

I wonder if we could get Howard Taylor (writer of Schlock Mercenary) or Larry Correia (Monster Hunter Int'l, Grimnoir, Dead 6) to write some Infinity fiction.

Larry's already written Makeda's origin story for Privateer, but he plays Warmahordes.

I would dearly love to see some additional background material. I'm tempted to dig out my Blue Planet books and rename Lambda Serpentis III 'Varuna' if we don't get some more background info soon!

Also, we definitely need LOTS of civvie models (and other obstructions/objectives).

A box of civvies.

An art book that includes plenty of concept art that shows what life looks like on all the worlds of the human sphere...flora, fauna, architecture, vehicles etc.
A euro style board game might be interesting, even WoTC has one now, Lords of Waterdeep, and it's actually good. Go figure.

For the life of me I cannot understand the appeal of that black library fiction. Or any of the dystopian 40k background and setting. Just...yuck. IMHO.

I would love a computer game but looking at the price of developing one you can forget about it, what's possible is official support to projects like Vassal, or SunTzu, there is already one Infinity module for Vassal but it's not polished, it won't give you this 3d feel, but it might entertain you when you can't have a real game.

I would like for CB to make official turnaments, I am not usualy attending those but I know people like competitive play.
Something to bring all the players together, an app for ios and android or something, that would show you where people are playing, news from your neighbourhood etc?

Except of that CB is doing great job, pleanty of videos, concept art comming soon, great company all in all.

CB confirmed in FICZONE spanish convention that would be civil models but not generic ones. They would release some character from the infinity background like did with Go-Go Marlene. They mentioned among others the "old man in the mountain" (hassasin commander), the Bakunin cientific that develped the zond series (I dont recall the name now), a famous panoceanic lawyer and the Neoterra auxilia prisoner for the morat (from Bostria comic stripes). They will be part of a non pin-up part of the bootleg range.

As far as civilians go, I just went the route of tokens. Worked out a deal with Warsenal to make me some Civilian and VIP tokens that I could use in general or for that Paradiso mission where you need about 10 non-combatants. (Cannot recall the name of the mission)

Cool that we're getting Civvies, shame that it's not going to be lots o generic ones. Because I really would buy all of them.

I'm not really interested in non-generic civvies. Being random faceless bystanders is kinda their point. I may still buy them if they look nice enough, but definitely not as civvies.

Novels! This game has a vast universe, but it's not being used. All the unit descriptions are generic, there's no feel and background in them. They need to write novels about a unit of PanO knights, or a group of Wildcats fighting as mercenaries. Anything!

The Raktoraks and Rasyats are going to pissed at you and a Morat is not something you want to piss off! They have fantastic unit descriptions.

I'll agree that some of the unit descriptions are generic but hey it's just to give you a general idea of what they do. It's also not broken down to like a storied history of a squad but a general overview of the unit. I also believe CB wants you to make your own stories up for a squad of PanO Knights or Wildcats. If you can't or don't want to... your imagination sucks  The unit descriptions are just a template.

About novels... bleh. Now something like a comic or a mangna set in the Infinity universe would make me really happy. Novels... not so much.

Fair enough, this is a manga-inspired game after all. I love that as well.

You know... just something to your imagination going. Give me examples of how the various factions interact with each other.

A Manga would definitely be a great idea!

And who knows, after reading about the interests of some of the designers (that are big fans of it), perhaps it could happen?

Especially now after the art books, the bootleg range.. it seems aren't afraid to try some new ideas.

Okay!

:pano:

Yu Jing: The fight between the N1 and N2. Every thing is a major competition between the two of them (think USSR vs US during the Cold War). These two were the two major forces fighting in the Neo-Colonial War so they have some bad blood between each other (the war is only like a decade old).So when shit hits the fan with these two it really hits the fan. There's also major differences in government philosophy.

Haqqilsam: Envy... major envy. PanO thinks it has a monopoly on a lot of things but one thing it doesn't is silk and silk is highly profitable. The business end of PanO hates this and since the Lobbies are the government and this transfers over to the military. We also have the age old fight between the religions as well. Then there's the pirate stuff like the QK and PanO is basically the British Empire of the Infinity universe. They hate it as it disrupts trade and is a thorn in there side that won't go away.

Nomads: Workers to exploit, fucking space hippies, criminals. PanO likes the skilled labor that Corregidor produces and likes to take advantage of it and the Nomads like the money... however PanO believes they can just get away with basically slaving them away... the Nomads disagree. PanO however doesn't like the merc side of Corregidor (evident in that none of sects have any mercs) seeming them nothing more then criminals. Bakunin is just bunch of hippies and should of been shot down along time ago. Tunguska is just full of criminals as well to PanO who steal from them and rivals PanO in the tech department which they don't like.

Aleph: Big bro that helped launch PanO to the N1 spot. PanO in best buds with Aleph do the AI's helping regulate and assist in it's economic endeavors. The AI also helps regulate space travel and PanO has a large fleet so it is a great boon for them.

Ariadna: Just another planet to exploit. They just few the Ariadnians as a bunch of back waters and ones they could exploit.

:yujing:

PanO: The one who doesn't belong on the thrown. Basically what I said in the PanO entry.

Haqqislam: The sleeper agent. They're a major problem and need to be dealt with. They would be the number 2 if Yu Jing over took PanO and Yu Jing doesn't want any competition. However with PanO in the way YJ can't exactly pour it's resources into them. Also the monopoly of silk doesn't sit well with Yu Jing just like PanO. Pirates... just like PanO.

Nomads: Very large space junk. 'Nuff said.

Aleph: Just like PanO but it didn't help them get to N1. They also like Aleph for information purposes providing Yu Jing with potential threats from within and without.

Ariadna: Just like PanO. Views the planet of Dawn as a great resource and nothing else.

:haqq:

PanO: The oppressor. Views PanO as the high elite that care about no one but themselves. They hog all the resources and don't use there knowledge to help others and goes against what Haqq stands for. There is also a religious feud between the two of them.

Yu Jing: The hungry dragon. Almost like PanO but worse with an oppressive government.

Nomads: Good friends to have. Haqq and the Nomads have a lot in common. The two need each other just to stay afloat in the waters dominated by PanO and YJ.

Aleph: The mystery. Aleph can be considered a friend and threat to Haqq. It needs the help of Aleph with shipping and economic help but it also wary of it's controlling ways.

Ariadna: Our new friends. They view Ariadna as another friend that could help them and the Nomads fight back the push of PanO and Yu Jing.

:ariadna:

PanO: Just on their planet to exploit its resources and nothing else.

Yu Jing: Same as PanO

Haqq: New allies. Same as the Haqq entry.

Aleph: The pusher. It's associated with PanO and YJ. They understandingly don't trust it.

Nomads: Our provider. The Nomads have provided the Ariadnanias with equipment to help fight back YJ and PanO.

:nomad:

PanO: Slaves. They view PanO as a slave of Aleph and distrust them. Also the monopoly on tech pisses them off the Nomads greatly.

Yu Jing: Slaves. View them just like PanO because of their association with Aleph. They are also fear the oppressive government of Yu Jing and goes against there way of life.

Haqqislam: Our only allies. You can't survive in a hostile universe without having some friends and that's who Haqq is to the Nomads. The two also work together to combat the ever encroaching YJ and PanO.

Aleph: The anti-god. The Nomads distrust the AI to a point where it is almost fanatical. It is big-brother in it's worst form to them.

Ariadna: A new market. The Nomads view Ariadna as new customers to trade with and approach their resources in a more suitable way compared to YJ and PanO.

:aleph:

PanO: The major backer. Aleph views PanO as it's biggest provider and biggest helper. It has the resources and tech to help advance the AI further and further.

Yu Jing: The strong hand. Aleph views YJ as a force that can calm bad situations and not just military situations. It also has the second biggest military in the HS and that helps when PanO is not around to diffuse a situation.

Nomads: The pests. Aleph views the Nomads as a road block and a very sturdy one. They and a few other variables are the only thing standing in the way of making humanity better and uniting them. They need to go.

Haqqislam: The reluctant ones. Aleph sees Haqq as a great resource but there a bunch of problems keeping them from fully trusting Aleph. Aleph wants to find these problems and elimante them so it can incorporate Haqqs biological mastery with the resources or YJ and PanO.

Ariadna: The new problem. Aleph views Ariadna as a force in the way of PanO and YJ gathering more resources.

Ah... I worked hard on that stuff... not really! It took me like a half and hour :D

And I really appreciate it! Sorry for not responding sooner.

The thing is this isn't really my issue. For me, I like would to see into the personal lives of characters from each faction. How does an every day Nomad live? What does he talk about? How does he refer to the other powers? Do they even play a significant role in his life? Repeat these questions for a citizen from Pan/Yu-Jing/any other faction.

I get the overall political picture. Just not on the personal level. That's where CB can win ground, if you ask me. Through novels or comics, either is fine with me.

They've given us examples before but they can be touched on a little more I guess. Also at a personal level you can't break it down to specif stuff and say that's how every Nomad thinks and what not. Maybe a Nomad doesn't like being Nomad? There's bound to be one but not every Nomad hates being a Nomad!

I guess that would be cool to touch on but I'll stick with making up my own ideas.

I want to see a racing/rally game, one with potentially RPG (narrative) elements within it. This could either be a Battle Angel Alita sort of scenario with the best and nastiest racers from different corporations, religious groups, private or public institutions going against one another or it could be done with vehicles which then would make great pieces for terrain!

Oh... racing combat. Now if you take this to its logical extremism and make a roller derby fighting game...

Then we can have Odalisques hip checking Daktaris! :3:

Perhaps I went a little too far.
