I'm hoping to use the 'Predator hounds' from the forthcoming AvP game as CA Hungries, and have some of them on order.. still means that I have to (and will do!) buy a whole lot of other CA miniatures though!

With my first infinity miniatures taking 2 months to arrive proxies was the only option. I've been using e-M4 troopers as Fusiliers and most of the other troops were either e-M4 or Denizen figures. As I could get a good match for pretty much any load out my opponents had no problems with them.

I think CB miniatures are perhaps less likely than any other company's to be replaced by proxies - if one considers the quality and proportions of their sculpting, and the lack of other companies out there doing similar-style sculpts that 'fit' within that universe.

So, I don't think there is any danger of them becoming commonplace like they are in other games - a lot of the time you see it in Warhammer fantasy for something like human armies (bretonnians etc. someone will always use Perry historical miniatures because they are better, cheaper and fit the theme), or 15mm world war 2, which are based on historical and common ideas that are easily made by other manufacturers, and which Battlefront/Flames of War really need to worry about.

Yes, I have a small number of models that I am proxying. Motoko and Batou immediately come to mind. Hungries would be a model I'm proxying as well, I just can't stand the current sculpts (and don't have the time/$$ to go trawling fleabay). I might abuse some of the plastic Confrontation Wulfen as another set of Antipodes. I'm very likely to use Empress moderns as USAriadnans, just to get a wider variety of sculpts/poses.

And this doesn't count any conversions I've done, like the Nisse->Guilang I did to make 'Hideo Kuze' for my Section 9 minis.

I'm trying to convert these Wargames Factories "The Men" and "The Women" into civilians since I ended up with two boxes of one and one box of another due to a misclick while they were having a sale. The models have great poses and a lot of solid details, but might be too small in scale to look right next to Infinity models.

Some creative gun cutting is going to be necessary. Will be posting pics when I get around to it.

I have Empress modern U.S. soldiers to use as USAriadna since the CB version is an utter train wreck. When they finally release new USAriadna models, they will probably look good, but I'm not waiting two years for CB to get around to the sectorial and the models.

I also use Antenocitis models as civilians/police. Some of them are a little too Space 1999 but most of them are spot on for Infinity.

Hasslefree has some good civilians/Infinity faction models. I use some of their modern combat guys for USAriadna as well. Make pretty epic looking Chasseurs. Hasslefree also has great weapons for weapon swaps.

There's also the classic Antenocitis Komodo used as a Nomad Gecko. Sadly, I think they discontinued that model. I have three of them and they're amazing. I've actually seen someone use them at an ITS before the real Geckos were released...

Here's a great example of what you can do with Hasslefree gun packs and bits. These are my SAS with SMGs. The one on the left uses arms left over from my Bergil model. The one on the right just uses Hasslefree's P90.

I've just placed an order for some HS to fill out my PanO. Their awesome range of White Troopers will see use as my Fusiliers. And if the official Fusilier resculpts turn out to be better, then the troopers will get reassigned to some internal security detail

Sedition Wars an Infinity copy? The two are vastly different. Agree on the material quality, but 50 metal sculpts would make the cost astronomical.

Deadzone I can't comment on. It looks promising but there's no interest in my current meta, except for the terrain.

There's been a rumbling locally towards good old Stargrunt II, which I'd like to encourage with the Infinity minis. Should be fun.

And as CB put it, you can play Infinity with whatever minis you want. "A roll of coins. A piece of lint." Just not in official ITS. Which is understandable and very cool.

I love many of the Infinity models, it's what sold me on the game, but we are lacking in things like SAS and Foxtrots, Civies etc, so it's nice to have so many options.

My Civies will be comming from mission packs once I start getting those, but I'll need more, so Hasslefree will help there. Thankfully a M16 or P90 won't look wrong in Ariadna.

Anyone have any examples of SAS or Foxtrot proxies btw? I guess I could drop a rifle on one SAS guy, but I'd rather avoid hacking away at metal.

Really a shame that Antenoiciti stopped selling their 'GOT' troopers. I bought a load of them to use to represent O-12/local SWAT team, and they are quite finely sculpted. Certainly more similar to Infinity in terms of proportion than a lot of other miniatures.

Someone else posted the 'Komodo', which again is a very cool miniature (I'm using it for a 'police TAG')

I wonder if they will ever go back on sale once their Kickstarter has come and gone (or else, will they themselves become involved in a KS at some point in the future?)

I am working on a scene of all Antenocitis models in a convoy for the miniatures sub forum. It will include three Komodos and other Antencitis goodies. They are easily my favorite miniature company next to CB...

Some friends and I are using some home-made rules for Infinity conflict in populated civilian areas, that require a 3rd player (effectively a gamesmaster). As conflict takes place on the city board, civilians are killed, there are explosions etc, a 'tracker' increases, almost equivalent to Grand Theft Auto's star system. Starts with rent-a-cops and local patrols, but then escalates to armed SWAT teams in armoured car (the Antenociti GoT miniatures) and finally even a TAG (the Komodo, painted up in police-type colours, complete with siren )

Makes the game quite interesting, if the local enforcement reponse escalates to highly, it can make it extremely difficult for both sides to complete objectives when they are fighting each other, and the local cops!

But assuming that you mean this SAS model, it's not too hard. Heck, you can actually do most of the 'hacking' with toenail clippers (fingernail clippers will work but might break under the force, plus they have a sharper curve).

The Chain Rifle and Assault Pistol SAS model is tougher to work with.

Some of the bodies are used twice, kneeling one will probably get a twin like those marked with (). In many cases they come with multiple arms, and many heads can be swapped around.

I just noticed HS has half of USAriadna, now. Including 2 females without wedge heel boots.

I don't mind proxying, as long as you put some effort into the proxy or are just trying different stuff to see what you'd like to eventually run.

So, I wouldn't mind an opponent who used the kneeling ranger above as a foxtrot, but I would mind trying to proxy the kneeling ranger as achillies if t became a regular thing.

I proxy as well, but the minis I use are mercs from the infinity line. (Max Scorpio as Jaques Braunt primarily).

That said, I've got both chassuers, so I may get the guy in the top left to proxy as another if I ever run three chasseurs.

Yeah, I just haven't gotten around to ordering him. I'm waiting for my HRL briscard to come in the mail. After I get the HRL painted up, I'm going to order Braunt.

I have this weird "one mini at a time" rule when it comes to painting. If I've got too many waiting to be painted I'll often rush through and try to do them as fast as possible--which doesn't give good paintjobs.

Plus, I've just stripped down and started to repaint my loup garous, so it'll be a while until I get braunt.

I'm not keen on skinny-white-guy-with dreads (see too many around here as it is.). Don't have an issue with big Polynesian dude with dreads. Team him with a HF shotgun and it'll be apples. I'll call him "Ronan "scarface" Dex".

I am not a huge proxy guy, I just don't like to do it. For my opponents, hey there are money concerns, or the desire to try stuff right away etc.

That said, I am not going to buy a model I don't want. If I needed a girl Caledonia Volunteer or Dozer, I am gonna look somewhere else. Also, there is a strong chance when I get atlanta I will build or buy an alt spotbot.

I do my best to support CB, especially since they seem to try and return the favor, but that stops short of buying stuff I don't want and I extend the same to others.
