O-12 Podcast

Ok I'm sorry in advance if this is a no no topic, and please Mr Admin feel free to delete this if I hit a raw spot with this.

Does anyone know why Romeo Flip isn't doing the podcast anymore.

I'm not anti-Romeo (or pro Romeo either), I was just wondering why he isn't doing it now. I asked the guys at O-12 on Facebook but didn't get a reply.

Cheers

Ed

This is my opinion and not based on any factual evidence but I dare say the main reasons he does not feature on 0-12 much any more is as follows in no particular order.

  • He is a busy man in his own right or own mind however you see it.
  • He plays multiple game systems and Infinity was simply flavor of the month.
  • He has caused damage to his personal brand (his name and Battle Foam) and arguably the brand he is meant to be a representative of (Infinity) and is now cautious about doing more.
  • He has a perfectly good team in Kip and Tom to run the operation without his active contribution and therefore doesn't need to appear on every show.
  • Getting things like Wild West Exodus up and running trumps appearing on or running a free Infinity podcast also see my previous about Kip and Tom.
  • Finally his job is done; which was to create an advertising vessel which only actively advertises their product.
Note: Yes they do review other products in a most positive light but their is no other form of advertising out than their own.

Read that as you will. I have no personal hatred towards the guy. I did feel and continue to feel he doesn't add much of value when he contributes and his 'rant' affair was harmful to everyone at the time and even if none of my assumptions are correct I don't feel any less for making them.

Romeo in my mind is free to run his business however he wants, contribute wherever he wants and speak his mind when ever he wants as long as he accepts that his hyperbole may be questioned by others. I'm no different and I hold no other person above this concept no matter if their a TO, a CB employee, a president or a prime minister when you make public statements they belong to the public and they will be interpreted or misinterpreted as they will.

You can make any question/comment you want pro or con about Romeo here. (Admin)

The podcast has improved since Romeo stopped contributing directly.
I mainly listened to the older casts FOR Tom and Kip's contributions and despite Romeo.

The rant (podcast and online) and resulting backlash didn't help his case.

The decision was probably made in the hiatus when O-12 was off for several months (when they were deciding whether or not to continue it).

I figured as much, I'm just surprised there hasn't been an official line on it.

I enjoy the podcast, and like how it's been streamlined lately (which I feel isn't an issue with the hosts, more a natural evolution of any product).

I'm just curious I guess!

Oh? Romeo's out? Maybe it's time to try the podcast again.

You heard it all here first folks Pierzasty jinxed it; now Romeo is going to have have a feature length presentation on every show for the rest of time. :v:

So I'm rather new to the Infinity Community and I've only offhandedly heard about issues with Battlefoam prior to this; anyone want to give me a brief summary of this Romeo rant and stuff?

The podcast got some bad comments, Romeo made some poor choices and ranted about it for an episode (it was childish but a lot tamer than it sounds) and apparently/allegedly (I didn't see it myself so can't say it happened but other people may well have) he threatened some people on the official forum.

The podcast ended. People asked for it to come back, which it did, then Romeo dropped off the recordings.

I do like the podcast, I like Kip and Tom on it and they have always been pleasant/accommodating to me on Facebook/forums.

Not everyone does.

Thanks! I'd heard about his attempt to force everyone at conventions to use his cases or be thrown out, but I had no idea it had gone this far. I don't have any links to proof of said attempt, as I learned about this second hand, but I consider my friend a pretty good source of info.

Take it with a grain of salt.

Romeo has allot of bad ju ju surrounding him and often things quickly get blown out of proportion because of it.

I heard this a while back, without either of us even knowing he was called Romeo or ever playing Infinity; but that's good advice. Was curious if anyone else had heard about it also. I want to restate that I've got no proof or links, this is only what I've heard.
