For those who haven't heard about it or played, its sort of an anime take on a world war with Infinity-esque combat.

I played this on the PS3 and it's a fun, flavorful story, along with being a solid sRPG (although fair warning, there are a couple tactics you can use to take all of the challenge out of the game).

I liked it enough to play the second one on a portable system, and to be disappointed that they never localized a third. If you like SRPGs, and didn't have the chance to play this, it's definitely worth your while to pick up.

I never got a chance to finish it, so having it on my pc is pretty exciting. I'd probably grab it on principal anyway, because I want to see more games ported over to PC.

I'm pretty interested in this game, as tactical rpgs have always been super fun for me.

Fire Emblem, Final Fantasy Tactics, Advance Wars. All pretty awesome fun.

Does this game play like any of those?

It's not gridded like FFTactics, IIRC. (Haven't played, just have the art books)

“Stopped? Never. Slowed me down while I load the guns? Every time.”

Its not gridded at all. Its... action turn based? Like you spend an order to activate a troop, and they have a movement bar of how far they can travel on one order. They can then make one attack with one of their weapons and usually an action of some sort. During your active turn, certain units can fire at you in ARO in bursts. They can do this repeatedly, so you need to limit your exposure time. After you have spent that order, you can then spend another order on someone else or even reactivate said troop; however, every time you activate the same troop in the same turn, they have less movement to somewhat discourage ramboing.

Multiple classes are good at different things, with Scouts being game breakingly good for certain missions(play them as intended; scouting and shooting) and the imbalance isn't so obvious. Its a really fun game, especially for $17. There's a lot I'm leaving out; oh, grind skirmish some if you feel your troops aren't strong enough. Then again, I never really considered it a grind, cause I just loved the tactical Strangereal World War.
