Think I found the inspiration for the Aleph bike...

Manga is called "Until Death Do Us Part" in English. Here's a link to an online reader, since I can't find any evidence of a licensed English translation.

The introduction to the bike is chapter 71, and the bike in the manga is just nucking futs. Two-wheel drive, two-wheel steering, active suspension, each wheel has it's own motor so they can spin in opposite directions, and it has the torque of a truck! dang thing can even do motorcross stunts and maneuvers, or even crazier stuff like climbing up the side of a building:

Even more appropriately, the bike is named Bucephalus in TDDUP, after the horse of Alexander the Great.

“Stopped? Never. Slowed me down while I load the guns? Every time.”

Nah, I think its too different. I guess its pretty easy to design bikes and they end up similar since they are so basic. But the Aleph bike's tires are so different and this one seems more in line with todays Superbikes. Also the front part is to different, I believe.

Well, the manga's bike has conventional wheel hubs instead of the rim drive like Infinity bikes, but that's a stylistic difference. I think it would be easier to make a two-wheel drive bike (especially if you want to make the two wheels spin in opposite directions) with electric motors at the wheel rims.

The major difference I'm seeing is that the Aleph bike has a big chunk between the standard bike body and the front forks, making the front forks appear a good bit longer.

And I don't really count the tires, since those are so changeable (I've seen Harleys with dirt-bike knobby tires before). I'm tempted to strip the gesso off Penny and take a grinder to her tires to remove those stupid plates. At least to give the smooth part of the tire contact with the road.

But I think I know what I'm going to do to Yojimbo's bike now...
