So over on the official forum, I have been challenged to make a spaceship using my expertise as an old submarine crewman.
I've been kicking that idea around for a while, but I'm in a shitty spot financially and can't afford the $100 to do it. And yes, I really do think that $100 will cover the project. One 4x8' sheet of 3mm foamed PVC (Sintra Board) is $50, the other $50 would be for paint and miscellaneous bits like plastic rod and tubes.
Model/table would be a 3d version of this:
~30" long overall, 6" wide at the bridge and forward spindle, ~10" wide at the engineroom. I'd do the ring sections flat, since I can't figure out how to make a mini stick to the inside of a ring. They'd each be 14" wide and 40" long. The ring around the ship would only be about 14" in diameter.
If you can help fund this, the first purchase will be the sintra board and will get the tutorial started.
