Deadlands: Hell on Earth

by Magno » July 22nd, 2014, 2:32 pm

Some of our Infinity group fired up a long campaign in this RPG.

Man is it a hoot.

Not much of a role player, but this is craps loads of fun.

Consequently, the more we dive into it, the more it feels some other miniature game lifted a lot of aesthetics and ideas from this game.

If you like Road Warrior, Borderlands mixed in with more fear and horror and dark comedy, this is up your alley.

I've actually run an RPG in the setting of that other miniature game using Deadlands. Fun stuff. :)
The silk gloves have been stashed away in some old, forgotten box.

I had a priest that got turned into a zombie after he died.
Since that day he began going around with barrels of whisky to drink so he wouldn't start decaying :)

I much prefer the original setting, not the post-apocalyptic version. Quite fun with all the Old West critters and all.

“Stopped? Never. Slowed me down while I load the guns? Every time.”

I'm much more a tech oriented guy. The RPG group finished a year long Deadlands campaign a few weeks ago and I jumped into this one. The way it's been described to me is that Deadlands original is less fearful but more twilighty kind of things with a comical twist. Like Dusters and creatures.
Hell on Earth has more creepy stuff. We're early on so most stuff has been early, normal type stuff but the GM is pretty fabulous at creating tension and suspense and has us on our toes most of the time.
