I've never before even considered any one else painting my models. I love to paint my models, and I'm happy with what I can do with them.

...but I do a lot of demos, and I really wanted some models with some WOW to them. Something that would really show a potential player what CB's figures have to offer.

...and the dealer's room at Dragoncon this year was a total nightmare. Instead of blowing my budget, I bought 1 25.oo board game and a few dice, leaving me with a few hundred bucks to spare.

I stumbled across Swift Brush Studios, aka one-man-shop Nick Pasch, because he was painting the prize for a tournament. I was amazed. I reached out to him via e-mail, ready to recoil at the price and time it would take.

Instead, what I got was an e-mail a day later. He offered to paint 14 models from Operation: Ice Storm in about 6 weeks for a price I found crazy reasonable. I won't say the dollar amount, because he doesn't post his prices. What I will say is that I judge services by whether or not it costs less to translate my time into my dollars than I make per hour. Then I factor in skills or equipment I don't possess.

By that standard, he did these models for a crazy good price.

I doubt I'll ever get another model painted, but if this was to be my only experience with propainting, I can't see how it could have been better.

If I was doing the WarCor thing, I'd almost certainly get Op: Icestorm professionally painted and sealed in 10 coats of varnish (if not dunked in bar-top resin and then dullcoted).

The construction-yellow Nomads are a bit different, but I like them.

I've asked for a few bids on minis (a vehicle, in my case), and one of the criteria for the painter to lower his costs was how much fun he had doing the painting. So I think that Infinity minis would help out in that regard.

Ah, I think I saw those on FB, excellent stuff.

Those look good - I love his JSA minis. The yellow, grey, black combo is pretty slick.
The hex on the Nomads - I wonder what stencile he's using?
