I'm inclined to agree I thought to suggest it but came down to the same conclusion K.I.S.S Keep It Simple Stupid if your just using laser cut HDF and nothing else than you won't forget parts when your packing to post.

The other option is retain the kits as is more or less but put a caveat in the instructions warning of potential breakage and suggesting likely replacements/fixes if the owner/builder wants.

None of it is going to stop people buying persay but its thoughtful design more or less.

I was thinking a possible easy variety to your buildings would be to inverse the layout of HAB1.
It wouldn't be much different but it would allow stairs to be on a different side of the building. I find it annoying with my buildings (other manufacturers) to sit their and rotate, and rotate, and find I always have the same dead spot when it comes to getting stairs or roof access to a certain corner because everything has the stairs on the same side of the building.

Just a thought.

Great looking stuff. I am trying to put together a reasonable order, my first order has already broken 200Euros and I think my wife might object.... So many nice pieces!

Icchan, check your local HobbyLobby or whatever you have that's similar and check the silks (fake plants) section. You have to use your imagination pretty seriously, though, as a lot of the plants will appear "too big" or "too strange" to use, at first.

Quite a while ago, I saw a really great tutorial for creating your own foliage/shrubberies from aquarium plants.

It's not this one, but it's pretty close. If I can find the other one, I'll post a link...

We don't have HobbyLobbies, but we do have other modeling hobby stores and I did check. Most of their stuff (read: all) is for model train scenery and that stuff is hella expensive and not very durable for tabletop use. I tried searching pet stores for aquarium plants, but none of the pet stores in my immediate region have anything aquarium related stuff, seems there's no market for it anymore.

Sometimes being in a small country sucks.

That's a thing to consider.

Anyone know a store to get cool plants like the one on the grey planter?

Icchan just put artificial aquarium plants in the Google and check if there is a retailer around your area. Generally for 28mm the smallest size ones work best, and they are already painted as well. Bonus!
I've ordered a bunch few posts ago and asked if there would be buyers for that if I make it available through my store... let's say the interest was quite low back then.

I just got a notice that youre making base toppers for HINT the Human Interface Kickstarter

It's all a bit hush, hush at the moment but I hope there would be a whole range of models exclusive for HINT. And yes the toppers will be available through the store once the campaign is over.

Cheap source of plastic plants from international brand: IKEA has many options in their FEJKA -line. Sure they need a bit ow cutting before they fit in a planter.

Short Range Antenna (aka sniper's paradise) will be available in the store soon.

@VisOne - the cable seems to be robust enough - it survived transportation and international shipping ;-)

I love you stuff (I have a few of the Hab buildings and the food stall). I noticed you mentioned the possibility of larger buildings some time in the future. Any hints as to what they may be like?

I see another purchase coming soon.

The tower looks great!

Thanks ;)

Bonus points for making a couple dedicated command-center layouts from fluorescent acrylic to match the table layout!

Might be a bit big to fit into an 8x8" objective room, though.

80-100mm per side, if my eyes are telling me truth. Objective Room is about 200-203mm. So if you place it centrally, there should be still enough space for a 40mm-based model to move freely.
A 55mm-based one, I'm afraid, not.

Not exactly that but I suppose there will be a couple of layouts available - one city (orange), one outdoors (green fluo) and maybe another one from yellow acrylic.

80-100mm per side, if my eyes are telling me truth.

Good eyes - it's 100x92 which is actually the extreme measurements to the farthest points.

I will try to source some fluo acrylics from a different place, right now I have access only to green one.

This one will come only in fluo flavor, I believe it will look faffing awesome.

Excellent! Yet another thing from ZenTerrain that is burning a hole in my wallet

A 55mm-based one, I'm afraid, not.

55mm bases shouldn't be inside an Objective Room, anyways.

I was really referring to making some acrylic blocks and shapes, putting those on the display screen.

80-100mm per side, if my eyes are telling me truth.

Good eyes - it's 100x92 which is actually the extreme measurements to the farthest points.

Excellent! Should just fit into the Objective Room then.
