Well there is no way I can afford all I want from these guys till next year, and a few of us were kicking around a few ideas on email. Sci Fi Venice???? This is PERFECT! Those buildings and all the add-ons too! DAMN YOU convention season, I would have my new city if it weren't for you!

I would also like to say "Thank you" to you guys Escenorama for doing this in resin. I am not sure what other mediums they had to use, but their stuff is seriously awesome and I can't wait to get my hands on what I did order (not to mention all the stuff I want to order!)

Congratulations. I think this funding campaign will work out well for the community in that some of the things that are now in development with the funds are quite unique style pieces (landing pad, catwalks, info-station) and its going to be good to see them available and add to the variety out there.

Don't forget to keep us updated on here as you develop new products.

Not sure if anyone else bought into this campaign, so I thought I'd provide an update. Despite an expected delivery date of july products still haven't been delivered and as far as I know some aren't even finished yet.

Yet another cautionary tale on the perils of getting involved with all these kickstarter/indiegogo campaigns.

I'd advise steering clear of this company until they get their house in order.

I've said it previously and I'll say it again, there really is no reason for these terrain manufacturers to use Kickstarter/Indiegogog other than to insulate them from failure to deliver. Almost all of them have had serious problems, yet the guys who go straight to sales have done well - because they're actually ready to sell, whereas the Kickstarter/Indiegogo guys tend to be at the idea stage and seem to think that warrants giving them money.

If they don't already have the laser cutter, then they don't even have experience making workable designs. If they are making resin terrain, the cost of entry is so low there is no need to raise thousands of dollars to get started.

BTW, I'm not anti-Kickstarter. I've backed various projects. I may even use it one day for a (non terrain) project I've been working on. I just feel that the requirements to manufacture good terrain are such that it is better for everyone involved to avoid the crowdfunding route. Unlike sending out to manufacturers domestically or abroad where you need to order hundreds or thousand of units to produce at a reasonable cost, all of this stuff is pretty much boutique made-to-order, which is practically antithetical to the point of crowdfunding.

If they don't already have the laser cutter, then they don't even have experience making workable designs.

Maybe they had one at some kind of (semi) public workshop? Universities and clubs can have such infrastructure, but would not be OK if you used their laser for constant production. Other places offer laser cutting services, but would not be OK for mass production as testing new products could take too many days and they could be asking for fixed number of copies to offer reduced prices (so slow development and back to having to hold stock, which means money).

I noticed the posts from november regarding the kickstarter backers not being satisfied. I would be very grateful if anyone can tell me if the company has delivered on what they promised since then.

I am VERY leery of Kickstarter....but I did order about $40 worth of products. I have not received anything as of yet. Oh I am getting emails once a month but nothing yet to show for it. That's why I did a really, really, really small order! I have low expectations actually...

I pledged for 3 things.

I got one just after Christmas with 2 out of 3 of the bonus items.

Still waiting for the other two items and (effectively) 7/9 bonus items.

What is really nice is that almost all the stuff is already for sale in their webstore and some of it has been for months.

But what you going to do? Indiegogo (and KS) don't give a monkeys because they can just say they have production delays. And you aren't protected by distance selling regulations, or as far as I am aware through your credit card. These guys seemed genuine and it seemed like a company that needed a kick to get an new Infinity style terrain line out there. Just shows how wrong you can be.

Seeing as their sci-fi line has disappeared without so much as a trace, I think it's safe to say you got robbed. They seem unable to provide any parts and those that they do are apparently warped to hell. I would try and save myself the disappointment and get a refund. Indiegogo seems to have more problems than Kickstarter.
