Free Laser cut terrain project

by heribertovalle » September 9th, 2014, 2:07 am

Good day to everyone! Name's heriberto and I'm new to Infinity. At the gaming club I preside here in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico; We've caught the infinity fever full. Since some time ago, I've been designing Laser cut terrain for our personal use. Some of it I sell at my store http://www.marchenstore.com and some of them is for the club's personal use.

Now, Some of the stuff at the store is cool, but not really selling much. Others, we don't make them for selling. Just for us. I've decided to start making those plans open source, and offer them little by little (both here or at my blog at http://www.heribertohobby.com)

Image

If you need any help, I'm here for anything you might need. To start the project, here are two files to make

Image

A Futuristic Bus stop . Those guys in the picture are from Warmachine, but you know; it works.
Download here:

Image

An AD Marquee. This one is for pasting on the sides of buildings. Very specific, I know. But we've put snipers over it and it's very cinematic :3 The illustration behind is on the blog download link too (My infinity terrain has a very dumb theme on the ads; everything is being sponsored by a cola drink company called "Genki Cola" and they use very gratuitous and offensive anime-ish publicity.)
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/nc9u26nw3z01 ... Yho7a?dl=0

You can also download them at http://heribertohobby.com/material-gratuito/ and I'll add more there.

Remember, everything here will work on 3 MM MDF / WOOD / ACRYLIC. Or any 3 mm material that'll take cutting and engraving. Modify at will. You'll need Inkscape, illustrator, autocad, or Corel Draw to make adjustments.

I will be very happy if you post pictures. I'll keep posting stuff here too, I want to get all of the old material on the blog by the weekend.

Thanks in advance for your attention. See you!

Holy living cow! These are absolutely mind-blowing and amazing! :)

Free is sometimes best; you're a real trooper. I'm glad to see more people offering plans online to help others with the hobby.

Question; what size sheets did you cut these on?

You're welcome man. Here's a new one I just uploaded to My thingiverse account, which I believe will be a better place to share this:

Thickness? 3 mm. Size? Well, actually you can edit the file and duplicate them as many times as you want, or arrange them alongside more cuts, your choice!

So what does the 6 mm mean? 3 mm thickness, the page says walls 28 mm wargaming...
If not worth saving, is it worth rewriting? What is more, was it worth writing?

Pretty simple. 28 mm scale means it's good for 28 mm scale wargaming (Warmachine, infinity, Malifaux, 40k)

3mm is the MDF (or whatever material you use) thickness it's designed for. The only thing I've made that is designed for 6 mm MDF is the big modular walls. Everything else is 3 mm.

Very very cool! It'd be helpful to see a little more assembly direction - at least for the marquee.

Hello Everyone!

First, here is a picture of how the Marquee goes. I pasted mine back then on a cardboard building I constructed:

I'll see about uploading a Laser- Cut container later in the week. Just have to clean up that file.

A HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL! Here's another laser cut terrain file for you all. Please send pictures if you actually use it.

Basically, it creates 4 small and 2 large AD marquees with Holo-looking screens for scatter terrain. Neato! Use 2 sheets and preferably: Translucent acrylic for the ad part.

you can find it all at: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:624095

So bossy! :D Added the file.

Alright, released other two designs I had in store. Since I'm already releasing some stuff for acrylics, let's make it count for the sheets. First, the Big Holo Barrier:

Image

Pure acrylic power, very pretty when cut from translucent, fluorescent or neon acrylic.

Download here:

And after that, another cheap alternative for cover and concealment in scatter terrain: The Quick Holo cover makes for an awesome alternative that takes very little time to set up. This one needs 3 mm MDF and 3 mm Acrylic.

If only I could find a laser cutter that doesn't charge an arm and a leg in Croatia I would be all over this. But as it stands it's just a dream for now.

If they're that hard to find in your country, have you thought about buying a Lasersaur and running your own? Sure, it's a build-it-yourself type, but it saves an enormous amount of $$ in the process.

Alright. I've added Shilouette templates for N3 on the Thingiverse page. I recommend cutting with Fluorescent, translucent acrylics. Let me know if this works for you guys:

Lately I've seen some game tables around the internet with my stuff. Makes me feel so happy:3
