Saw this on The Miniatures Page today:

A big honking truck and trailers.
Image
Truck is 130mm long, 63mm wide, and 60mm tall, trailers are 130mm long, 63mm wide, and 70mm tall, which makes it HEMTT truck sized, not 'merely' diesel semitrailer big.

Filed under "terrain" because it's a vehicle.
“I'm curious, son. When has 'This might be a trap' ever stopped you?”

Thanks for the inspiration, I now have a few HEMTT type truck on the things to do list, just need to source some decent wheels first.
Hmmm, got some plan pics of an Oshkosh HEMTT, scales to about 240mm long and 50mm wide, might be too big.

A HEMTT is a bigass truck! Had one behind me when I was driving my Subaru Legacy and all I could see of the thing in my rearview mirror was that front differential housing!

96" wide not counting the mirrors is ~43.5mm in 1/56 scale (which is commonly used with 28mm historical models), and 422" long counting the container lockdowns is ~193mm. As big as a HEMTT is, I would not go with 1/48 scale, even though I normally use 1/48 or even 1/43 scale passenger cars with 28mm minis.

Those Puppetswar trucks are cool. Be really nice for a warehouse/factory/dockyard table with shipping containers.

Even taking into account Infinity has gone up in scale, a 63 mm wide truck is too much for my taste (in 1/50, the 96 inch shown above would be less than 49 mm). And the "box" shape is not helping. Maybe as ICBM plataform, but not as truck, even for heavy cargo like a tank. But for that, the cabin would probably be a lot different, to fit the missile.
If not worth saving, is it worth rewriting? What is more, was it worth writing?

Nice design, and I have no issue with the size, but for some reason the aesthetic doesn't say Infinity to me.

To me, the aesthetic says "It's a truck. It's a utility vehicle, not a lipstick wagon.".

Nothing says that it has to be used in the "core cities" - it's probably the solid, dependable haulage going to the outer reaches.
Especially on backwoods dirtballs like Bourak or Dawn.

I really like the aesthetics.

I agree with chrome dog, though - I think this would fit perfectly on an Ariadnan teseum mine board. Given it's size I think it reasonably priced, but I'm not keep on springing for shipping across the pond...

I would totally throw down on this if there was an American supplier; I hate giving my limited hobby funds to shipping.
